Cyberpunk 2077

First few pages of this thread are interesting now its actually out :coffee:
It's quite sad really, the game was well overhyped in my opinion. I was very enthusiastic about it when they showed that gameplay trailer in 2018 and almost pre ordered then because of how much I loved TW3.

Thankfully I decided to wait until they showed more about the game. When they showed those first Night City Wire episodes I became a bit wary about the game as it wasn't how they showed it to be in the 2018 trailer.

After watching a few streamers play the game on release day, I still think it has a great story and characters but it's definitely not the "open world RPG" that they previously described.

I'll probably wait a year or two and see if I want to get the game once they've added some DLC's and fixed the majority of the bugs, by that time my PC should be upgraded too.

But right now, in terms of gameplay, this game feels more like a GTA clone than anything else.

Pretty much, but still I wonder how many in the initial few pages got what they've hoped for.

I know I'm an outlier here, but I'm thoroughly enjoying my time with the game. i've had the odd glitch, but no real issues, no crashes, nothing of that sort. Performance is also great now that I upgraded my GPU and can enjoy the Ray-tracing goodness.

Oh I see valve is starting 'scrutinize' my odd few posts on steam again. Previously they've gone so far as to reading old posts and issuing warnings since Doom Eternal/DowIII incidents. I have to wonder if I'm going to get another life time ban for a few simple, yet problem free questions in CP2077 :sneaky:  :X3:

If it works, and keeps you entertained then that is good in itself, but the same measure should be allowed towards us who simply wants a refund and are asking a few questions. I logged another ticket with gog for my refund. It's now 3 tickets running and no response. (2x gog, 1x paypal).

edit
I wonder how well EGS's refund system works. I do see they are cool with refunding and buying it again if the item went on sale and you have paid more.

My 3070 is on the way. Funny how RT has breathed new life into 1080p.

ELI5: What is the main uproar over this?

Did they use high end machines to sell the look and feel of the game and then in reality it looks half-baked if you are not running a 3090?

Ignoring you console peeps. You PC peeps how large are your save files at the moment?

I, who, don't craft or hoard items other than the 'collectables', my game save file comes in at 5 970KB so last night I decided to see how easy it is to push the save game over and above 8MB. I roughly went from 92hrs to 101hrs of game time to see if I could break my save file by hoarding through means of crafting. Reset my perks and dumped everything into creating items. My save game is still exactly 5 970KB. I checked it multiple times, the size never changes, no matter how many saves I make or items I add to my inventory or stashes.

The explanation by CDPR’s own moderators doesn’t even make sense in this context… What do you have to do to inflate your save file like that? There are players with 40hrs with corrupted save games, and most people claim to be hoarders and or crafters, and other had their save files go corrupt at 4MB.

Who knows, maybe my emptied out stash for one reason or the other broke this, I don't know, but there is speculation that too many crafting resources may overwrite stash ItemIDs... Just so odd at the moment, and CDPR isn't saying anything other than their forum moderators.

Apparently there is a PC patch coming out today, but it was made known from media notes, and could have been yesterday's patch.

Since I couldn't replicate the issue, though I don't know what precise conditions must apply, something tells me that there is a possibility that people leveraged the in-game debugger to spawn items into their game hence the debugger was disabled in the last patch.

Na mate from a PC exclusive perspective I think most people playing this on PC with adequate hardware feel the same. I also got myself a 3070 just like you did and... wow.

True that but what you really need to try and see in real-life is RT at 4K. Jassis. It's actually mindblowing. Just want to walk around slowly and stare at everything instead of actually playing the game

What led monitor are you using with that?

I have a 3070 too, my gripe isn't performance, nor is it really the glitches, since that doesn't deter me. It's the shitty and bland game. But I guess you're a much younger generation of gamer who's used to that kind of thing, and doesn't expect great writing.

There's much worse stories out there. This is one of the better ones. Not among the best, but decent enough. Sort of like a good action movie...
