Dashboard Cameras

It also uploads ALL recorded video, not only last x seconds. It uploads all of it, including historic clips.

Good data (for a start), kudos. So, thems that's interested in this thread, how about climbing in and creating a body of useful data? I'll pledge (assuming I can unbrick it (again)) to test with my Galaxy S ..any other takers?

I've been using this for months, excellent app. Haven't tried the auto upload to youtube though. Quality is excellent and the background recording option is great. Running it on a S3.

Hi, can you perhaps tell me if the pro version allows you to record while the screen is off?

Yes it does. You've got a widget that you touch then it records in the background. On my S3 i lose about 10% battery for 30min worth of recording.

Full info available at sauce, and in store. This seems like a particularly salient screen:

The Gallery allows you to interact more visually with the photo/video files. Thumbnails, grids and multiple selections make it easier to browse through large collections.

Additionally, the selected files can be shared through email, messaging, Bluetooth, Twitter, or uploaded to Youtube, Facebook, Dropbox, Flickr, Picasa etc.. Whatever app is installed on your phone, it is listed as a sharing option, if it can handle photo/video uploads.

Where did you get a dock for your S3? I was also thinking of getting a dash cam for my car, but if the S3 works great, I can just use the app. I need a dock for my phone though, don't have one at the moment.

Try vodacom. I got one from them, they are pricey though.

Just be aware they are Chinese copies of the original DVRs. The genuine DVRs usually have an Ambarella Chipset. The one in the link probably has a Novatek Chipset. The Ambarella usually goes for closer to R1000.

Probably works fine though, with a very slight difference in quality.

I bought a DVR (207 I think) recently on eBay. Picked the cheapest one for R440 - not a lot to lose if it turned out to be crap. Haven't had any issues with it yet. Quality is quite good.

I just discovered that my Garmin Nuvi 200 windscreen suction mount fits my S3 perfectly.

Just ordered one off ebay for R20
