data usage policy on RAIN

Hi guys

Anyone else got this message from Rain

Code:
High Data Usage.

Hi, we've noticed that you’ve used more than 1TB of data on your rain SIM (XXXXXXXXXXX).
This is a friendly reminder that rain is strictly for bona fide mobile use only. Please refer to the terms and conditions on the rain website regarding our data usage policy.
Thanks,

rain

this is the first time I am getting it.
Probably find if this keeps happening they will just ban/block your ID number from using their product, heard of axxess once doing that to someone after they sent the abuse email. But yes 1TB is total abuse it’s a mobile product not a fixed one.

Dude, 1TB on LTE. This is the reason why ISP's have to enforce AUP because of this. I also have the unlimited rain and I download and update games on Steam, uPlay, origin and blizzard. With this I do 1080p streaming on netflix almost every other night and my usage is 180GB per month for 2 users (That means all the games I download, needs to download on wifeys PC too.

How the hell do you get to 1TB without clearly abusing it?

We will suffer into the future because of people like you. Thanks a bunch dude for making the lives of those miserable that ONLY get LTE coverage. No ADSL, Wirless or fibre

Easy, it's called the 21st century. Get into it.

That's absolute bullsh*t.
Attitudes like yours are the reason why there's scant respect or courtesy any longer left in this world...pure selfishness and disregard for anyone else but yourself.

You automatically assume what it is my attitude is. It's attitudes like yours why businesses trample all over people.

2 x Xbox One with plenty of games to download pushes you over 1Tb in a few days.

Gears of war 4 - 100Gb x 2
HALO 5 - 113Gb x 2
Forza 7 - 110Gb x 2

So 750Gb before the other "smaller" game downloads and system updates.

Yes, I also received the same mail.
Hey @Crowley just fyi. If your XB1s are on the same local network you can actually copy the games over the network console to console saving a bunch of time and data, the option is under the network settings menu. Also with such large games I can assume you use an external hdd. You could also just use that to transfer to another console.
Just some helpful info.

lol. so many high horses here.

a house with a family of 5 or 6, with teenagers(even younger) everywhere easily chows 1TB, seen it a lot. thats without "abuse".

we do about 500GB sometimes just 2 of us and average 300-400GB. i do not download any media at all anymore, i stream everything. and we have 3x 4K screens in the house.

does anyone need a tissue for their issue

I think on Rain's offering, using at least 500gb is fair. I mean we're streaming but we're not streaming 4k content all the time, I wonder if it's even possible on rain mobile.

1TB? It is called greed. Some people can never have enough, ever... Gobblers. That is why SA is so F***ed up.

It is. My max throughput is around 3.5 to 4 MBps. So I get around 30-40Mbps.

This ^

The moment you help me pay for the subscription, then you get a say in how I use it. If not, mind your fcuking business. It is advertised as unlimited/uncapped. In this day an age of streaming and massive game downloads it is entirely possible to easily do 1TB if your speeds allow it.

farking lawl

"i should only use 100GB because my neighbour probably only uses that much"

meanwhile the neighbour is using the wrong internet package for his usage.

the stupid in this thread, hertz

:laugh: wtf are you on? SA is ****ed up because people believe ISP advertising and use the service as advertised?
They are not though. It's advertised as a mobile service sold with dual sim phones and MiFi devices - not meant to be plugged into your home LTE router and abused. People are pussyfooting around the mobile part.

No one is telling you how to use your internet, they're pointing out that it's advertised as unlimited MOBILE by the service provider. So if you're doing massive game downloads, you're clearly not using it for mobile (streaming as has been discussed is possible but on mobile screens this normally isn't 4k).

Like I said earlier, an all-you-can-eat pizza place is "unlimited" but restricts you to what you can eat personally while you're sitting down. You can't just fill up a truck with unlimited pizza and feed the whole neighbourhood.

Edit: @backstreetboy beat me to it... Good thing I was sitting down because it's rare that he and I agree! ;)
