data usage policy on RAIN

So 7 pages in and no one actually seems to have bothered to read Rain's T&Cs:

https://rain.co.za/#/terms-and-conditions
11.1.3. Where Rain needs to ensure that all Subscribers have fair and equal use of the Services offered by Rain and to protect the integrity of its network, Rain reserves the right, and will take necessary steps, to prevent improper or
excessive usage thereof. The action that Rain may take includes, but is not limited to:

11.1.3.1. limiting throughput;

11.1.3.2. preventing or limiting service through specific ports or communication protocols; and/or

11.1.3.3. complete termination of service to Subscribers who grossly abuse the network through improper or excessive usage.

Rain has every right to say "woah, buddy, you're taking advantage. Dial it back a bit, we do have other customers to serve as well."

TlDR - "he thinks rain has a cap, once again ignored the terms and conditions even when handed to him, thinks theres no distinction between providers, thinks that a single person using 1 TB on their mobile is normal, therefore possibly addicted to UHD porn, thinks that 2GB is any where a rational comparison to using 1TB of data, doesn't know the difference between throttling and a cap, seems to ignore logic"

We have a maverick on our hands.

Dude you are arguing a point on flawed logic you can't build up from the fact that their terms and conditions have stated a fair use policy, if you choose not to read them that's on you! Buddy, Guy, Friend!! Have a great Saturday, go get Sunshine, and before you try give me some more flawed information I don't care at all so keep that in mind :)

Backtrack much?
No, only your lack of comprehension.

Yes very vague. All that's asked for is that they're upfront about it.

No the only flaw here is you assuming they state the FUP where it's been pointed out many times they only state there is one but keep it secret till you exceed it. Where other providers are mostly open and honest about theirs. Well done in countering that buddy. You're doing a tremendous job here.

On an average network the average Joe does not exceed 1tb of usage, it's most likely a very small percentage of people who ruin it for others by using so much, and rain is kind enough to send them a message saying quite nicely, hey you're using a bit too much data "High Data Usage.

Hi, we've noticed that you’ve used more than 1TB of data on your rain SIM (XXXXXXXXXXX).
This is a friendly reminder that rain is strictly for bona fide mobile use only. Please refer to the terms and conditions on the rain website regarding our data usage policy.
Thanks,

rain"

In this message it is once again mentioned "mobile use only" and not done anything to prevent you from accessing the internet or throttled you in any way, good form in their part but for the price I think they might be being a bit too liberal and friendly, R250 is not much now days compared any other company which has the same which also generally has in place it's own fup. Now when you get this message reminding you of what you read in the t&cs you have a choice to either stay with this nazi group that is so unfair (how it feels like you are towards rain because of their terms) or leave and try and find a better deal. But you will probably stay because you know for that price there's not much else out there yet. And as for being upfront with their terms they are as upfront as they need to be, this is why we can't have nice things because of people like you

Irrelevant drivel. They're not being upfront about their cap where others like Telkom are. There's no way for you around that. This is why businesses don't deal fairly and get away with it, because of people like you.

I guess you get what you pay for mate

Exactly. I've seen many references here that Rain isn't meant for your 5 tv's, but I know households without even a single tv. So many stuff is moving to mobile.

think about what you are saying.

you complain that 1 sim is sucking up all the bandwidth of a tower. so how is one guy sharing his mifi different to the people who it is shared with, using their own sim, at the same tower.

actually, since they will all now have unhindered bandwidth each, they will consume even more.. not a good idea... :D
