DataSIM: one voice contract and Data SIM Cards that share a Contract Data Bundle

The system does not allow additional sims (twin or multi data) on Top Up contracts and prepaid because of the IN account. These accounts work on the prepaid and not postpaid technology .
 
Can you get more than 1 data sim on your contract or are you only allowed 1? Vodacom 4U in the Gardens Centre told me only one data sim per contract.

Pretty much what morkhans wrote. I thought there was a "more technical" reason?

You mean something like "Because if our realtime billing screws up and gives you more bandwidth than it should have, we will battle to recoup that on pre-paid, but we're covered on post-paid."? :)

You can get a second Data SIM, but it is supposed to be used for Blackberry and the 'internet' APN is intentionally blocked.
The 'unrestricted' and 'iphone.vodacom.za' APNs work just fine though, and it will work in devices other than a Blackberry.
 
What you guys are missing is which SIM gets which APNS's , and that is what the word doc is showing
 
I am currently on an iPhone contract and tried to activate a DataSim. Vodacom tells me that I cannot do this on the iPhone package. This is utter garbage. Nowhere on their website does it state that this package is precluded from having a DataSim. I this very thread, Vodacom has also not stated that the iPhone package cannot have DataSim

I am seriously peeved and intent to take this matter further. This is false advertising.

Howzit boys. I have replied to Louis and have CC'd Vodacom data so he can check my solution. As I have explained to Louis in the PM, I have never had the situation arise with me where a client wants a Data Sim on a Iphone tariff...so I was not aware that we are unable to activate this on that tariff. I will have to take VodacomData's word on this.

What I did do is I have sent Louis the cost for the migration to the standard Talk 240 tariff which will allow him to utilize the Data Sim product. I have also worked out the monthly cost for his monthly services such as his monthly subscription for the Talk 240, Clip, data bundle and SMS bundle. I also advised on the montly cost of the Data Sim subscription should he activate it on his line.

It is not the greatest solution I admit, but the only one I can think of considering the Data Sim is no available on the Iphone Talk 240.

Hi i have had this before where a customers wanted a data sim on a iphone package and use the inculded data on both sim cards. I called trade partner and they said you can do and it will work which i have done and it works 100%
 
Dell fan, thanks for that!! I have also reviewed the rules on the iPhone offer and it does state that the DataSIM is a valid service on the offer. My next challenge is how to get it activated. Dell fan are you a SP / dealer?

Louis...where are you based? If need be, you can go into one of my stores and have the service activated. Or you can just go in and purchase the sim card and I can do it for you.

You can only have TNM1 which is the normal data sim and not TNM2 which is the blackberry Data Sim
