Box Office on Now also not working, just blank placeholders that keep trying to refresh.

Items now in green in post #582 came right by yesterday, the rest are still giving some problems.
HD channels weren't checked but seem fine.
I'll leave this there.
 
And... bookmarks have become sticky. You can unset them but after a reboot they are right back. The new decoder is a lot less responsive than the 2A often stalling going back and forth with the status bar so you hear it playing bits and pieces when going through, there should be an audio pause as well so you don't hear it play when pressing buttons in succession. Another issue is if you stop something after the ending time it sees it as fully recorded whether there was an error or it was a late recording or not so you can't record it again unless you delete it first.

And my other issue isn't just with signal errors but also at other times. If would just stop and start recording again particularly from 6:05 to 6:20 in the morning so I don't see this as decoder specific but rather something on their side unless there's some big bird visiting every day. It's going to take years of updates to fix all the issues if they ever do.

The way around this is to make the second attempt a Manual Recording. And best to then give yourself generous safety net periods both sides in case they alter the times.

Another movie issue - the recent pop-up channel 111 had a number of movies that never made it to catch up as promised. For instance, Solo (1996) which I have therefore missed :mad:

It seems the weekly late night slot will now be a permanent repeat slot on the "channel with no repeats . The Babylon Berlin repeat ended last night and tonight Dexter: New Bloods starts, barely a month after it was shown express from the US. And on top of that the full season is available on Showmax!
 
Old online guide searching has been unavailable for about 3 weeks. Here's how to search for things in the second week.

Go to the Now guide: https://www.dstv.com/en-za/discover/tv-guide/
(Note - its own search option is not for guide searches :ROFL: )
Click on the stars next to the channels you'll want to search.
Click on the download button (top right).
Select "2 weeks".
Download the searchable PDF file. (Takes a couple of minutes for anything to appear in opened tab.)

I had to do a reformat on my 2A over the weekend. The prompt on the decoder didn't do anything, so I did a manual reset and format ... seems to be working, for now
 
Horse racing riddle solved - 249 has announced channel termination at month end, 240 therefore replacing it.
No mention of that in their press release of course, always making pride more important than helping the customer.

One possible limitation mentioned at least - "Discussions are ongoing with regards to KwaZulu-Natal's racing."

Yep, not working on Explora 1 either. And Box Office titles have "disappeared". And catch up, though it reports one title as being present.
Catch up plus listings are still there and actually working.

Previous experience suggests all will recover instantly.
Recordings (Playlist) and Schedules unaffected.
 
Showmax working again, not the others yet..

Edit: A reboot fixed the rest.

Not sure where to post this but got a notification that from 22 March they are only allowing 1 concurrent streams. 2 was already pathetic compared to netflix's 4 and Amazon's 3 but this is horrific.

DStv cracks down on streaming pirates and password sharing MultiChoice has announced that from 22 March 2022, DStv subscribers will be limited to streaming on one device at a time. Subscribers will still be able to watch previously downloaded content on a second device.

Most of this was playing up again this morning, not Showmax this time though.
