Go to Settings \ User Preferences \ Video & AudioI think there's a bug / fault for Subtitles in M-NET movies (satellite, don't know about online streaming).
Press Options on remote of the basic HD decoder (I've now upgraded to) .... select English, Subtitles appear, Back to escape that menu.
Then if you move away from that movie channel, go back to it, Subtitles are gone and you need to reselect them again if needed.
I remember when I first got this decoder and tested it out going back to that movie channel kept the Subtitles selection to English, and not Off as is now what it defaults back to.
This doesn't personally worry me, as I seldom watch movies (if ever), and my hearing still holding up well.
Just thought to mention, if this is something that needs fixing by DStv ?
Thanks, I must've set it like that when I first got the thing, then forgotten when it reset back to default somehow (as the way this decoder worked was all new to me at the time, along with most settings .... and still apparently is !).Go to Settings \ User Preferences \ Video & Audio
(may have slight name variations)
There you can set subtitles permanently on, else it's normal for them to reset after you change channel.
Its an error ...
These modern menus have taken me the longest to learn. Control became too restricted, however what isn't is covered quite well in the menus. Thanks, I must've set it like that when I first got the thing, then forgotten when it reset back to default somehow (as the way this decoder worked was all new to me at the time, along with most settings .... and still apparently is !).
I find I can get around from day to day with most things now, but agree with you that the settings are all over the place & I think the relative simplicity of the 1131 menu / settings were much easier to navigate, but also less info available so there's that to consider. These modern menus have taken me the longest to learn. But I would say some is too counterintuitive, the structure not user-friendly and some wording is poorly chosen.
I still use the A6 sometimes 'cos the nice A7 has one major flaw - endless bl00dy clicking noise! :- (Overall, not that disappointed now with remote's use.
Mine is a "B8" and from testing now some buttons are the soft, cushioned type ; the ones that aren't are :I still use the A6 sometimes 'cos the nice A7 has one major flaw - endless bl00dy clicking noise! :- (
E Media Channels Termination
Customers have more to look forward to, with the launch of new channels and even more entertainment.www.dstv.com
MultiChoice and eMedia have signed a new agreement to continue to broadcast eTV (194), eNCA (403) and the daily Afrikaans News bulletin on kykNet (144) on DStv. This agreement is effective from 1 April 2022.
The channels that were part of the previous agreement are eTV, eNCA, eMovies, eMovies Extra, eExtra and eToonz. This agreement will expire at the end of March 2022. eMovies, eMovies Extra, eExtra and eToonz are not part of the new agreement and these channels will no longer be available on DStv from 1 April.
No idea. Maybe keep an eye on announcements at the top of dstv.com , or news at the bottom.Has DStv backtracked on this? The channel termination notices has disappeared from these channels on the online guides. And the channels have their programming data shown as normal from April the 1st.
