I'm interested in joining Vitality, but just realized that Vitality has a separate monthly cost from Vitality Active.

I'm interested in the gym discount, the healthy foods discount, and the rewards such as paying off health trackers, shoes etc. Is this covered in Vitality itself, or do I need to sign up for both, or can I sign-up only for Active. I mean the differentiation between the 2 is very complicated on the Discovery website.

****'s expensive, like R400 per month just for both of those.

Vitality active is like the lite version of Active Rewards without Vitality I think.
I am on Vitality and don't pay anything for Active Rewards on top of that. At least not that I know off...

Anyone have a retirement fund with a discovery broker. The broker that I’m with told me if I get any short term insurance from discovery i must bring them the quote and they will apply a further 10% discount.

This was posted in the rewards whatsapp group.

Anybody know anything about this? My broker has been pretty useless and considering canceling insure, as the premium is not worth it for the amount miles i get from extra plays etc.

Could be true. When I redid my life insurance with discovery, the broker was very interested to get short-term insurance for me with the quote "discovery is very interested in getting more short term insurance clients". So I am fairly sure if you do get that quote, they will try to match you if what my broker said is true. This was in May/June.

Ok thanks. So Vitality Active is only the health part of Vitality.
So I only need to sign up for Vitality and I'll get all the benefits.

I’m in the same boat as you. There’s a good special for those who join in September - three months of Vitality for free, so it’s a good time to join and see if you can come out ahead.

I’m going to use these free months to test it, and cancel if I’m not earning back the R280 fee.

Wait, I didn't know this. And the Discovery rep I spoke to also 'failed' to bring this up.
Do you have a link I could check out.

Here’s how it went:

I went into the app and clicked some or other link to join vitality. The image below appeared, promising R750 to join in August. Sounded good, so I requested that they call me back. When they called, I asked about the R750, but they told me that was for August only, and since my membership would activate 1 September, I could have three months free (the consultant told me that was the September special).

Yep thanks.
The rep I spoke to said this is linked to me joining an Essential Smart and above medical scheme as well.

Guess I'll call them again later and see what that rep says.

It seems to me that Discovery are intentionally complicating their app and website to obscufate getting to the bits one could be looking for (which could cost them money in form of payouts to clients). Talking about activating healthy gear ,etc sometimes you just go in circles on website and in app not easy to find. My experience over a few days.

But now that I got healthy gear activated , how does one actually keep track if it's been captured on their side , and what expected payouts are going to be. Does discovery vitality even have a statement, where one can track all healthy food , healthy gear activities , so one can be sure all is above board. If not, how do they get away with not having it considering it's equivalent to financial services?

Ebucks at least makes it easy.

Does anyone have experience getting HealthyDining cashback from a Nandos online order? I just did an online order with kerbside pickup for the first time and there was no slip included. I've been trying to scan my computer screen with the Discovery App but it aint working!

Worst. Website. Ever! OK, maybe not ever, but it is sometimes really hard to find what you're looking for!

This is a constant battle. I keep a record, and then invariably, every month-end, I have to send an email asking for a breakdown of my Healthy Food. I think there is some way to check it on the App but I can't find it now. Again - terrible app! A while back I was routinely not getting my HealthyFood cashback, until I linked my SmartShopper card (which seems to have replaced by legacy Discovery Credit Card as my "HealthyFood card").
For HealthyCare, I mostly use Dischem and once a month I get a statement from them that has one number for Discovery earn. If that number doesn't agree with my records, I send an email and ask for a breakdown. That usually comes in a few days. Same for HealthyGear. It takes some work, that's for sure!

I got my cash back on 28 July. I was surprised because it was early and it just said disc memb, didn't say healthy food.

I got my shoe booster today. But what’s weird is I thought last month was the last one. Hope I’m wrong and I don’t get a claw back.
