Discovery Vitality 2023

ya those points are just to move you up vitality status to increase your discounts and cashback on other discovery rewards (gap cover, life insurance etc). If you dont have a woolworths or pick n pay dont do it. Not worth your time. As you will typically only get R10-R20 a week on the "gamble board"

Yip, as a non-bank user, but on vitality health, majority of the miles are from:

HealthyFood: PNP or Woolies or Checkers(from next year)
HealthyCare: Clicks or Dischem

From the gamble board, almost nothing.

Still go for diamond on vitality health, because it affects the discovery life insurrance.

Anyone having issues with Vitality Drive where the trips are recording, but the Vitality Drive dashboard is not syncing to update correctly. So it is showing no drive days (when you did drive) as well as daily drive points remaining unallocated?

This is last week, missed the gameboard play because of this

Experienced this only to discover that it shows the next week.

I often use phone for gps

Does this deduct points on vitality drive?

For those on Discovery Insure is there a max point deduction you can get per day?

If you have the smartphone enabled device it is 60, if you have the standalone dq-track it is 50.

I have both the standalone version (in my two older vehicles) and the smartphone enabled device in the newest car. Not sure why Discovery discontinued the standalone Dq-track as it gives a significantly better user experience, the phone one is just junk and not accurate.

Can I sync my workouts to a family members vitality account to help them move up in tiers?

Being Fitness capped at a mere 1340 points below Diamond seems particularly scummy from Discovery. I guess I need to bite the bullet on that 2nd health assessment. :(

2nd health assessment only help if you didn't score max points the first time, and improved on the sections you missed out on?

Me and my wife is 1980 points away and we have not maxed our exercise points yet. So will easily make it before year end, nevermind there probably another 1000 points on the way for healthy food end of December, though we not banking on that.

Hmm yes, that sucks. My blood pressure was off for the last one so will try again but maybe i should just do fitness assessment rather.

The points you earn from your Vitality Fitness Assessment contribute towards your yearly cap of 30 000 fitness points. The bonus points you earn from your Vitality High Performance Fitness Assessment don't contribute towards your yearly cap of 30 000 fitness points.

You literally quoted there that it is not separate.
Fitness cap = 30 000
Assessment is part of. that.

I just looked at my own fitness stuff for the year which confirms fitness assessment is part of 30000 limit.

Get Active Summary: Earn up to 30 000 points per member yearly
Points earned: 19300

Here is the breakdown:
Vitality Fitness Assessment: 7500
Taking 10 000 or more steps: 200
5 000 - 9 999 steps 1000
15 - 29 min workout at 70%+ of max heart rate: 100
Other fitness events: 10 500 (these are my 200 or 300 at 70% or 80% for 30min events)

7500 + 200 + 1000 + 100 + 10500 = 19300

Oh hell, I misread that, saw the high performance part :X3:

Just a recommendation on this.

I kept playing with this issue on the health assessment for a few years, but at one point it just got too high. So monitor it, perhaps even think about getting a monitor yourself. Once you find its too high even when checking it at home, see a doctor. I did, now a chronic patient on meds to help maintain this.

This is the point of doing these checkups, to find issues like this, before you get a random heart attack. High BP is however in my family history so wasn't a surprise.
