Discovery needs some competition on the rewards side... Wonder why US is so competitive but SA it isn't? Just too small a market?

I think I’m ok with the changes. But it’s more like gambling now. You not guaranteed miles but when you select the correct tile you can probably get 5-10x what you used to get.

Thought it was just me misunderstanding how this isn't "better". With my "luck", there goes the earn. Will need time to study the new guide and figure out how it all really works.

Yea so if you do your grocery monthly run of let say 5k. Make sure you meet your goals + exceed them to get a sneak peak so that you get the best probability in selecting your spend tile. Or even better in the previous week make sure you sync your activity late so when they do a correction in the following week you get an extra play. You just have to be more strategic.

Had the same issue, thankfully it was a bug on their app for a short period of time.

General vitality question :
Can you and your spouse be on 1 vitality despite being on separate medical aids ?
If so are there pros or cons to having everyone on 1 vitality vs separate?
E.g. quicker or slower points earn, total cost etc

My wife and I are on one Vitality even though we are on different Discovery Medical Aid Plans where we are both the primary members. It is a legacy issue on our part as we started off on the same MA Plan and vitality, but at some stage split onto different plans due to differing healthcare needs and benefit maximization possibilities.
Is the "not guaranteed points" part linked to selecting a pharmacy/grocery/fuel tiles? If so, I agree that it is like gambling now as I do not go fill up nor go to a pharmacy every week, so I have a a very good chance of selecting a blank every week...unless they do not place it on the game-board if there is no spend. Let's wait for next week and see what happens.

Pretty much. If you have a life policy with them, there may also be some benefit there.

Yup same with me, this year I don't care anymore if I don't get it, but probably will regardless since they trained me so well

I have a free discovery bank account. If you buy flight tickets via Discovery (on diamond) :
1. I guess I need to transfer funds first to the debit account to purchase the tickets?
2. Are Flight tickets purchased on a debit card subject to the same protections / services as purchased with credit card e.g. dispute resolution, free travel insurance
3. Do flights purchased with Discovery CC get travel insurance?
4. Are flights booked via Discovery flexible in case or changes or refunds due to non-travel. I see Kayak offers this for the flights I was looking at.
Thinking of potentially applying for a gold CC to facilitate the above (tickets to Aus and NZ) and after I come back, to cancel the CC because from what I understand if I get this, then I will need to also play the game for spend limits etc with Discovery going forward (which could be useful for Woolies Cashback, etc)
