Discovery Vitality 2023

I've always been a Apple user. My old Apple Watch broke, so I got a Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 from my sister after she upgraded.

In the process of setting it up, I downloaded the Galaxy Watch app as well as the Samsung Health app on my iPhone and it seams the data is syncing from the watch to the Samsung Health app.

I don't see a way of directly getting activity data from the Galaxy Watch in to the Apple Health app, under steps etc. the Galaxy Watch doesn't show up as a device I can choose.

In the Discovery app I also can't see a option to choose the Galaxy Watch as a device, or Samsung Health as a app to log my data.

Anyone else in a similar boat, how do I do this?

Not sure about the Samsung \ Apple Health sync, but I do know that Discovery doesn't like data pulled from third party apps. Eg. if I use Nike Run Club for a run, then use that data synced to Strava, then it doesn't count towards anything in the Discovery app nor does Discovery pull it from Apple Health either.
So, you might wind up with a similar situation using third party apps to link Samsung Health and Apple Health where you might see your activity from Samsung health update in the Apple Health app, but it still won't be considered valid by Discovery.

Anyone noticed the basic coffee at Vida is now 200 points yet Discovery is still giving out 150 points on the game board?
Yes mug n Bean hot drink 200 points. My game board even gives 100s

must admit i am convinced its all rigged and they have a set amount of miles they give you regardless. Had about a 20 week streak of getting 3 plays on gameboard and i think i had 2 plays out of 60 that gave me more than 200 miles. Then for 3 weeks i only achieved 1 goal and suddenly getting 600 point tiles (fuel/grocery spend). Now last two weeks after achieving all 3 goals i am back to 100-200 per tile.

My observation. The number of 150 tiles increases, the higher the value of the exercise, spending and fuel "tiles" are. I've been getting 9 x 150 tiles out of the 20 tiles for the last 3 weeks.

Since they dropped the suite discount, is there any benefit staying on the suite instead of just having the black credit card?

Anybody else confused by the new fitness points/cardio fitness points for 2024?

Fitness points

We're also expanding the ways in which you can earn Vitality fitness points, recognising short, high intensity workouts and long, light intensity workouts.
  • Earn 100 points for a workout of 15 to 29 minutes at a moderate or high intensity of over 70% of your age related maximum heart rate.
  • Earn 200 points for a workout of 60 to 89 minutes and 300 points for a workout longer than 90 minutes, for light intensity workouts of 60% to 69% of your age-related maximum heart rate.

While all Vitality fitness points count towards your weekly Vitality Active Rewards goals, only the first 1,000 points each year for speed workouts, light workouts and short high intensity workouts count towards your Vitality Health status.

Cardio fitness points
The most reliable measure of cardio fitness is VO2 max. This is the maximum amount of oxygen that the heart, lungs and muscles use effectively during exercise. From 2024, Vitality members can earn up to 10,000 Vitality fitness points every year. This will be automatically awarded based on your VO2 max, as measured through an Apple, Garmin or Samsung fitness device, or from the results of a Vitality Fitness Assessment.

Points earned for cardio fitness will add up to the maximum 30,000 Vitality points that you can earn for fitness in a year.

Due to low take-up, the Vitality High Performance Fitness Assessment will be discontinued in 2024.

I should've elaborated. If I'm doing an easy run, I'm most probably going @70% MHR, therefore an hour of that doesn't net me 300 points anymore.
What I'm saying is that I'm sure the existing rules (including 60 minutes at 70% for 300 points) will remain. What you posted above is just additional rules, not replacements.

Ah okay I also thought these were replacements and the 300 points for 30 minutes at high intensity will fall away.

I hope I'm right because I haven't got time for 90-minute workouts. But the highlighted words below lead me to believe exisiting methods will remain.
