Discovery Vitality 2026

Had an Oura, died within the two years, replaced under warranty. Died again within two years. Canned it. Discovery can keep it.

Any tips for the newbies wanting to try out Discovery for the first time before 2026 starts?

You don't need their health insurance to get vitality. You can get a life insurance or investment policy and try it that way.

What investment policy or product? Is there maybe a specific requirement?

Been with them for years now. Vitality works for me because I make it work. Gym pays for itself after a while. The discounts for devices, clothing and footwear are aligned to my activities so I have more to spend for race entries lol
Banking suits me as I save on flights 35-45% depending on status. 35% off at Woolies. Fuel cashback converted to Insure Funder helps cos its doubled then added to account.
They arent the cheapest but what is cheap these days... Try it then decide for yourself.

It is always good to remember that Vitality profits are funneled away to connected cadres via SAA. It is also good to remember that Diskakvery helped to get the NHI concept off the ground. No wonder Diskakvery has become so expensive, cadres are eating. They can take their behaviour controlling crap and shove it up the ass of a cadre in the SAA lounge.

you are not their target market sir.
It’s for people with higher socio economic status.
You have no clue what your talking about, and probably cannot even afford an entry level plan 😉

Can someone please explain the Garmin reward to me? Where can I see more info and how do I activate it? It says I need a qualifying bank product, but they do not go into detail on what it specifically is. I also do not seem to be able to find it on the app.

I hope someone else can confirm because I can only speculate that you need at least the discovery credit card.

They really are quite pathetic at making information easily accessible and clarifying terms they use.

Need a credit card with enough facilities to fund the watch my bro.

Ah thanks, that makes sense! I saw about the benefit on the website but could not find it on my app. As @rougeTr00per said, they are really bad at setting out the terms and requirements.

They are. One can argue their use of plain English is bad. I know I’m not the smartest, but the wording on the KAUAI instant reward always foxes me.

It's like they have no cohesive strategy or they don't follow any sort of best practices for making a website informative and easy to navigate. OK I'm not a web dev but how about a tooltip to elaborate on what they mean by whatever banking products are required, or if it's such an extensive list then take you to a new page to give all the details.

you can see it when you try use AI to understand one of their benefits or products. literally warns you there is too much conflicting info for it to be certain yet you can see the level of trash chatgpt/googleAI is willing to throw at you under normal circumstances.
