People on all sides of the spectrum near get away with murder on the forum, Mybb is probably the most laissez-faire forum in South Africa, well especially among the big ones. It’s quite funny, the same people on Mybb that you’ll find sht talking here all day every day wouldn’t dare do that on the other forums they frequent.

Just don't use the discuss. It is for the low class pleps. Posting on some random moderately successful forum on the internet is way more satisfying and shows some class.

I have more respect for the worst TDS infected Covid Karen on the forum than for any of the losers on discuss on the main articles.

Some kindly moderator decided to merge this and my previous thread. Thanks, mod for being active and fair. Now if we could only get that type of result on the Disqus side of things.
Unfortunately, this is the only related place to bitch about issues regarding their system, since Disqus makes it clear in their help that the owner of the website is in charge of comments.

The problem is not MyBB nor the Disqus section, but the (wider) culture of pretending a fake reality into existence. MyBB has a reputation to maintain, just like on News24's former discussion sections reflecting on the quality, nature and worldview of the site. Same with (non-media) private companies. They don't want to project a certain image (or images) to the world, analogous to Hollywood actors' virtue signaling and political correctness. This coincides with an overlapping culture of regulating views and perceptions and conviction steering whereby silencing is required well beyond the (unacceptable) cases of racism, anti-semitism etc. to try to shape the world and society apparently.

Used to be a lot worse. At least now you can see previous names. Back in the day, if someone changed the name, you'd never know unless you happened upon an old post from them that was quoted by someone else.

Some of their sister sites actually disabled Disqus for that reason. I'd rather they did the same for their MyBB articles rather than not letting everyone have a fair and equal say.

Posts to MBB are automatically set to spam. Sister sites, like BusinessTech are going through fine.
So tell me, what should I do to get this rectified? At this stage, I know my comments on these pages won't be seen by anyone. According to the disqus support pages, the MBB moderators need to whitelist me so their spam filter stops automatically tagging me. I have offered my advice and I am now offering my time as needed to get this resolved. Thank you.

The only thing that will help you is a new Disqus account and don’t use a similar user name because I’ll bet you the mods that manage that are targeting your current user because it’s an easy way out, a shadow ban rather than actual moderation.
