I need to make my LTE setup more reliable. I recently read an article on using two LTE routers with SIMS from different service providers. Of course, now that I want the article I can't find it.

I seem to remember that the setup used some kind of a "mixer" or "combiner" to connect and manage the two LTE routers to the network.

If anyone has information on how to do this, I would appreciate any assistance.

Welcome to mybb. :D

*What is the coverage for your area like on the map for the LTE service you currently using?
*What device are you using at the moment?
*Have you tried moving the device around and monitoring the stats?
*Post your signal stats here and some very helpful members will get you going to improve the setup where possible.

The article you looking for using the search feature and keyword "LTE" is here. ;)

When you say "more reliable" - what exactly is the issue?

Poor speed/signal?

Slow response times/latency (ie high MS pings) - or general connection speed?

If signal is the issue - especially inside the house - then perhaps an external antenna from somebody like Poynting will help - you router needs to support and external antenna though - most new ones do. If the area in general have poor signal/coverage there is not much more to do if you have already tried the external antenna route.

Have a look at their website on antenna information: http://poynting.tech/how-to-choose-an-antenna/.

As mentioned above, welcome to MYBB :)

As also mentioned above, you need to provide us with more info so that we can help assist.

I have a Hawei B315 Router connected to yagi external antenna , work great , my son in flat next to house got his own Hawei b315 router ,
Can you connect both router to the same external antenna

I'm interested in doing something of this sort to use my rain sim during their off peak hours and using another sim between 6pm and 11pm till the day somebody decides to put fibre in my hood. I plan to use it for gaming at night so would need some solution to mange my network to minimize any impact on game time.

I was also thinking about this, the best thing I thought of would be to have timing switches, and have the Rain sims router turn off at 6pm and the Cell C one switching on then, and then have the Cell C one switching off at 11pm and the Rain one switching on at that time. Of course, you would need 2 LTE routers for this, but should work fine.

That’s the solution I have in my head as well. Just thought somebody had like a fancier solution

Have a look at the solution @Sn@p has made with a Mikrotik router. That's what I would recommend.
