eSIM options

So can my physical sim be say Vodacom and the esim be say cell c?

That is correct.

I travel up and down Western Cape and I need a provider that has good coverage everywhere - in my experience, that seems to be MTN.

Telkom/Cell C are not as good as MTN.

Not an immediate solution but pretty soon CellC will roam on MTN (for prepaid)

Already like that in PE and other areas, as I understand as they shut down their network in certain areas this will happen

That's good to know - I didn't know that.
@Cell_C am I able to get a eSIM by visiting the Howard Centre branch in Pinelands, Cape Town?

Do any prepaid eSim providers allow for registration online without having to go into a branch? Basically, I don't want to have to go into a branch for a virtual sim :P

Ufortunately they treat it as a new sim so you have to RICA :/

I picked up a prepaid eSim (provisioned only for data) from Telkom yesterday for use in my iPhone 12. I was dreading going to a store but the experience was pretty good and setup was quick & easy. It’s great having access to Telkom’s reasonably priced LTE bundles and it’s working awesome so far!

Also on iPhone 12 with Voda as main SIM, have both Telkom and CellC eSim. Current best option for me for data is the CellC Day by Day offer. 250mb per day for R99 per month is a no brainer!

How do you have telkom and cell c as esims?

You can enable and disable the eSims. Last two are eSims

On iPhone 13 2x esims OR 1x esim & 1x physical sim can be active at any time.

You can have up to 5 esims on your phone but only 2 can ever be active at a time (1 esim active if your physical sim is active)

Just tried two eSims and didn't work on a iPhone 12. Only works with 1x Physical and 1x eSim
