There is a limit per folder - not sure what it is but just count how many you CAN see and then create a NEW folder i.e. Movies 2, Movies 3, Music 2, etc etc etc and spread them out. Using windows create the new folders and then MOVE the other movies and it will take a couple of seconds really.

im using mac so it just doesn't cut it
 
I tried updating firmware but apparently the one i got was an "older" model and couldn't update past a certain date - think it was march or something. Anyways, sold it today cos i bought the AC Ryan Media player.
 
PriVio is the biggest load of horse shyte! I bought mine last November (2009) and had endless nightmares with it. Now I just use it as an external HDD.

1. You need to make sure your folders are "correctly" named or your privio wont find them.
2. Allows up to 1T HDD BUT you must partition them... if you split a T into 3 drives, it only reads 2 of the 3.
3. It does NOT play what it says it does...
4. The 'box' said networkable... no ethernet connector on it.
5. Remote has useless buttons on it.

The functionality of the device is POOR and the firmware upgrades DO NOTHING, except give you more headache than anything else.

If I could recommend, DO NOT buy a privio EVER!! Buy a Mede8r. So much better quality wise.

I can see all my movies via the USB connection from my laptop, but I have 2 directory with 250 and 185 Movies in, which just shows as "root" on my TV. I'm also on the latest firmware version. I can see everything on my TV as soon as I break the directories down to only have less than 50 movies in it.

In comparison with my MVIX680HD, this is a complete piece of rubbish - not surprised if you look at the difference in price. Luckily I received mine as a gift, so I won't feel any loss should I dump it in the rubbish bin within the next week or so

Same problem, the worst thing of all is I'm in Namibia. I can only see the "root" menu. I have 150 movie not even in folders, directly onto the HDD. Still i'm unable to view any of my AVI files. I made sure that no other format is on there!

How can one fix this problem? For now i'm using it as n desk HDD portable 1tb.

Hi.
Any specific way to add media to the drives.
I found that if you format the drives and copy the media to the device, plug it to the TV it only show ROOT
None of the files copied to the drives is available.

Also if you start deleting files or add new files, it does not update the device.
As soon as you plug it to the TV again, it goes back to only showing ROOT and none of the folders or files copied to the device.

If you plug it back to PC, everything is there. All files is supported formats

Divx, mp3, wav
 
What is up with this files that gets missing, EVERY nody have this problem why doent they just sort it? I sat at sales when i took back mine and told a customer not to buy one coz it is crap, Just because of the mising file thing. They were upset with me but i doent care. If they were concerned they would try and fix it. Yes you can split your flies but if you sit with 45000 songs you doent want to split then in folders of 500 coz it will take you years to do and mis up everthing and not be able to sort them proparley.

Some other thing that would be nice is a search function.

Please esquire help your customers. If been with you from your compony started in clubview when Mohamed him self helped and this is the first time that i know that the customers recieve such poor service on a product.

we managed to get the source codes from the manufacturer last week after a huge battle and looking into the re writing the firmware for these units
and will keep you posted .

Btw nothing has changed since Club view days , I still have an open door policy , still help clients with quotes and carry stuff to cars for my clients,
 
HDMI audio / Fan noise

I wasn't getting Audio on HDMI.
Firmware upgrade fixed this !

My only other problem is a noisy fan for the first minute of warm-up.
 
I purchased my media player today , not very impressed , does not want to do firm ware upgrade ??? can not access any files ??? keep getting the message " no media files " whats up ???

still no luck , unit does not dissplay any files , when I put a flash drive in , it only has a root folder , does not see or read anything else ??? Really dissapointed with this product , not much help in the manual either ...................anyone with any help please email me at :[email protected]

Hi Wayne, I have not purchased the unit yet, but did read the whole thread. There are some suggestions which you can try.
 
Why 2 500gb partitions?

Would it not be better if I make it one large partition?

Would it affect it negatively somehow?
Would it be recommened?
 
Ok, my unit has suffered the same problem and its probably the multiple folder issue, last FW I find here is dated 05032010, have there been any updates since? if so, where can I find them?
 
Actually does anyone have thank bank30.bin file for the latest firmware 05032010, is this firmware still in dev or even supported?
Don't suppose if it is not supported anymore you would be able to throw out the source for me to tinker with.
