Ex-MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Ya... I don't use torrents, hence only picking up the problem now. Haven't tried another app, but remember, it doesn't do this on Afrihost.... I'm back to being impressed with Openweb Gold though, and have un-cancelled my account.

Yea but some programs operate different so the shaping rules may be affected by the way the program operates, without trying another program you are basically blaming the account when it may be the program.

Anyways may be i worry too much about finding out what the actual problem is :D.

I'll give it a go just for the hell of it... but probably only around the weekends time... I get back to late to mess around on the PC.

@biometrics: When you say usenet: where exactly are you connecting to? The free news server at Mweb and IS, and NZB's from nzbsa? Or is there more that I am not aware of? Please educated me!
Thx!

App: newsleecher.com
Usenet: newsdemon.com

My line is flying - I'm sitting at around 500KB/s - graph even peaks at 730KB/s...and its 4MB... so I'm melting the copper.

est. time to complete a 3GB download is 1h55m (newsgroups)

Well the past two weeks streaming has been unusable. But weirdly usenet downloads are at maximum.

Yeh - I've had a rough few weeks as well - but after solving the torrent problem - its been ok.... currently doing 300+ Openweb Gold should currently be the only consideration for uncapped at 4MB.

I'm still going to cancel till about May though - I'm going to be incredibly busy the next three months, and won't have time to switch accounts, etc - not even rebouting the router - so I'll leave it for awhile.

/sigh, well you know i what i would have to ask next :D

shall i keep an ex-openweb uncapped subscribers thread feedback warm for you ?

on more serious note, i would wonder if there just is too much uncapped users for what is possible. hence all the degradation of service. however i would like to add that maybe if there was a decent streaming service for movies/series a lot of the traffic internationally would go away.

My main problem was using torrents and newsgroups at the same time... as soon as that stopped, 80% of my issues stopped.

while on the vb network, I've had no problems - on the IS network I've had problems.

noted, i would wonder then why VB's network is currently the best then.

Think its more around what you use the network for... I get around 5kB max on VB, but newsgroups fly.

On a side note - according to my monitor - I've done 12GB today since 9am-ish

Looks like things are ok again. Can stream etc. For two weeks my various accounts were crap, be it WA, Afrihost or Axxess, capped or uncapped. I think it was a Cape Town problem.

Close to 200 GB this month.
