Ex-MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Moved from Mweb premium to Afrihost Business Uncapped. I finally learned what it means to be unshaped. Generally good torrent speeds during the day. Mweb speeds during the day (even on premium) were ****.
 
Just downgraded. Sending in cancelation which will only be effective end September? They need a full calendar month to milk you dry some more. Bastads!

Notice to all!!!!!:

When you downgrade the account to 1G or whatever please take note that the automatic booster (default enabled) will be active when you change over so on 1Sept you have to log on and change the default to capped booster at 1G else you are in for a huge out of bundle bill.

I just sworn at the idiots because they apparently cannot fulfill my request to enable the cap of 1G now. So be aware corporate thieves they are just like the cell co's roaming and out of bundle thing.

I am assuming that you cannot DOWNGRADE from My Account? That you have to actually call them up and get probed for treason?

To save on your bill during the notice period.

I've requested my account be downgraded to email only. Mweb let me do this mid month when I moved and was without a line for a month, so there is a precedent.

I cancelled mine without having to downgrade it to capped :) All I did was to send a copy of completed cancellation form (.pdf) to [email protected]. It took them about a month to have my account terminated :D I doubt I will ever go back to MWEB again. I can't wait to get rid of my old BILLION**** router that MWEB provided me when I signed up in the first place.

I have nothing bad to say about Telkom Uncapped 2mb.
The times when I have downloaded during the day I have had full line speeds.
At night I also have no issues what so ever.

Streaming Hulu, Netflix, etc.

I'm back on Telkom uncapped. It's cheap. It's unpredictable and at times it has been unreliable. But it's cheap. Right now it's peachy. Low gaming ping, fast downloads, good Netflix throughput.

I had a few disconnecting issues when I first got my line running but lately I haven't had a single problem.
Line never drops, permanent adsl connection, good speeds, etc.

with Afrihost, you can get a BUNDLED account ( Uncapped + adsl-line)....meaning you pay LESS for your Telkom adsl line. With OPENWEB....well...your ADSL-line STAYS with Tellkom (or your previous adsl-line holder)

Im taking the GOLD CAPPED 100Gig account at R697-00/month (same price as the 4mb UNCAPPED bundle)...only thing is...i dont know WHEN they start throttling...

...true, but its worth a try. I have jumped from SO many ISP's, its unbelievable....thats why i think uncapped sucks...get a capped...and you KNOW where you stand...PLUS your line-rental is much cheaper...

Line rental is cheaper.... I'm sure the cost of a 4MB ADSL line is R425 whether you on capped or uncapped bud

You've been on the wrong uncapped accounts. Openweb Gold accounts don't throttle ever. You can do want to you want with your line.
