I remember my earlier years of drinking, would drink to the point just before chundering, sleep, and wake up bright and early... but alas... these days I seem to suffer a little more... However, last night I did polish off 1/2 a bottle of Johnny Walker black label, a few shots of vodka, and a beer.
However, I think building your tolerance, Drinking water/eating(I eat before calling it a night and sleeping... seems to help me), and pace yourself... Never start with shots, those should be in the middle of the drinking session. then as the night begins to come to an end move back to beers.
Also, drinking clever helps. Southern Comfort only has 35%, while Rum, Vodka, Whiskey etc have 43%. So rather ask for a double Soco Lime when your mates want to drink cocktails etc... they'll think you drinking more then you actually are. Also, go for hunters gold over hunters dry if you plan to have a long drinking session. Dry=5.5%, Gold= 4.5% (this makes a difference

).
As for waking up in the morning, well, just get your ass out of bed, have a headache pill and a valoid (if you feeling fragile) and have a good solid breakfast... A week ago I got completely smashed with a mate (he's going to Stellenbosch to study). I couldn't remember what happened after the 10th shot, and woke up on a couch (we played a game where you take a shot to every rule on zombie land, and double tap is a double shot

). Woke up feeling worse off then ever before

, but yeah, I managed to keep my breakfast down, and felt worlds better in 30minutes

.
