Feedback please: ADSL + telkom voice services

As an ADSL subscriber do you use the Telkom voice service?

Only for DSL, the voice only gets used in emergencies.
Would also prefer no voice at all.

Line rental + 384k ADSL Pretoria east.

I dont phone out, but some ppl prefer to phone me on the landline as opposed to cellphone.
 
Durban - 384k - have another main telephone line which we use for voice, the one on telkom serves as a fax line, but dont use it 99.999999999999% of the time - infact i dont even think the voice line is working for months after lightning - havent bothered to fix it.
 
We have a number of clients with 4096k lines that use it purely for ADSL. Some might make use of the line for faxing.

Personally I don't own a Telkom line, never have and hope to never have to. I have a cell contract which I use for voice and data.
 
4Mbps Telkom line with Imaginet as my ISP. Sonstraal Heights (Durbanville)

Mostly for Internet, sometimes I make do make a call (maybe 2 a month). Mostly use my cell phone for calls.

@ home: 384 ADSL + voice

Use for dsl only, no bundle, just line rental and various ISP's (depending on use).
 
Not going to read the whole thread. You have to have a voice line rental @~R100/ For R160, you can have unlimited calls up to an hour per call... Unless you are piggy backing on your parents' line :rolleyes: this makes sense...

EDIT: Kinda interesting to see how few people agreee with me here...

Paying R50 extra to get free calls would be a waste of money to me, cause I won't use the free minutes. I prefer to see who ever in person or SMS. Hate talking on a phone. Just my personal feel.

As for the topic of this thread. My vote on the pole is NO. I do make the odd occasional call on my telkom line. Once in a month or two, but if I could I would rather not pay for a phone and have only ADSL.

If you know a service that allow ADSL alone then inform me NOW!!!

I have a telkom line for ADSL. I would use it purely for ADSL if I didn't have to pay for the voice service too.

Town: Melrose / Johannesburg 1 x 4096kbps

I use a lot of Telkom's services - voice,fax etc.

Very happy - their service has improved a lot in the last couple of years.
