Flat-rated Nokia data bundle pricing from Nashua Mobile compared

Can I point out that everyone forgets Virgin Mobile?
I have only had good service with them.

Their OOB rate is R0.60 / MB - and even on the outskirts of Durban, I get 3G or higher.

EDIT:
Also, How does this make sense?
MTN 75MB contract 75MB R0.65/MB R79
MTN 75MB add-on 75MB R0.65/MB R49

"256kbps after 100MB usage, 512kbps after 160MB usage, no YouTube, no bulk downloads, no tethering"

512 kbps after 160MB ?? Typo in the table ?

** edit : I see it has been fixed :)

Excuse me a second, but:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That is all.

so after your 100mb you get 256kbps and when you eventually hit 160mb you actually get a faster connection? :D go go go download 160 asap.

Reelix. I am not impressed by your spam at all. Go troll some other forums if you cant make useful contributions.

cozinsky: That was in fact a useful contribution. By seeing this (And Shred's subsequent +1), people will wonder why we find this so comical. After a bit of Googling around, people will see how absurd a fair usage policy of a mere 160MB is, and exactly what you can do on a 56k connection (GMail will time out, downloads going at 3kb/s max, etc, etc, etc)

If something is worth a more detailed explanation (Which Nokias offer certainly is not), then it will be given.

Might I subsequently add that 8ta are currently offering a 2+1GB Data Bundle at R150, that allows wonderful 500kb/s download speeds?

Would you rather buy something cheap and useless, or pay slightly more for something almost infinitely better?

Vodacom 100 megs = R49.00

R0.60 x 100 = R60.00

:)

Now this is a more senseful contribution. Shouting it out in big bold letters is just silly and smacks of immaturity. Don't degrade yourself to that level.

I generally prefer letting people figure out things for themselves than simply spoon-feeding them :P

the idea seems to be going the right direction, just need to relook the data FUP.

then again, 256Kbps or even 56K seems faster than it feels sometimes what I get on Blackberry

but for a real smartphone, especially these days, nobody wants sloooooow speed, even if it may be OK for mail and IM messaging.
Browsing at dialup speed is more likely to have the phone damaged, or thrown out the window :-)

If you look back at my articles on device launches in SA you'll see I always ask Virgin for comment. In this comparison, however, the table was getting big and their price just isn't competitive when you get to the 100MB mark.

MTN 75MB contract 75MB R0.65/MB R79
MTN 75MB add-on 75MB R0.65/MB R49

The one is a dedicated data contract, the other is an add-on for prepaid and voice contracts. Even then, I don't get it.

For vark steaks. Fixed. Source was fixed but not before the export to HTML happened.

Jan, as these are pitched as 'BIS replacement', should you not have BIS as the first entry?
