It took me a little over two weeks I think. From booking to getting the okie to fix my ONT etc. Had the line into the house already.I'd just like to find out, after purchasing a fiber package, how long can I expect to wait for Frogfoot to install the ONT box at my home? There is already a fiber line, it's only missing the ONT box.

This was damage control, but if you read it critically it does more damage than PR points. And Vrot Foot trying to save their market share.
I wish it was 2 outages a month only.

Frogfoot has released details about two major incidents that knocked its network offline in major Eastern Cape cities.mybroadband.co.za
The question then is this: Why roll out antiquated infrastructure in the first place? And why perform bloody maintenance every single week, or is it because of that old kit? This was damage control, but if you read it critically it does more damage than PR points.
They admitted that this region is serviced by antiquated infrastructure and has no NLD failover backhaul.
Wow.
They have an alternative backup path, not sure why you think they dontThey admitted that this region is serviced by antiquated infrastructure and has no NLD failover backhaul.
It didn't work, did it Einstein. They have an alternative backup path, not sure why you think they dont
You said there was no NLD failover backhaul, i corrected you as this is not true. That would be negligent from FF if there were none. Redundancy tends to not work when both primary and secondary routes are down simultaneously, force majeureIt didn't work, did it Einstein.
Now they're scrambling to secure alternative capacity on additional NLD routes with their competition.
As you were.
Judging from the evidence in this forum and thread - in practice we have seen their redundancy and BCP planning is bad enough to likely contravene any SLA's they have with third party commercial customers, let alone end consumers. You said there was no NLD failover backhaul, i corrected you as this is not true. Unfortunately there is no SLA with us, the end user. It's "best effort". For an SLA they'd make you sign up for business fibre at the associated inflated cost.Judging from the evidence in this forum and thread - in practice we have seen their redundancy and BCP planning is bad enough to likely contravene any SLA's they have with third party commercial customers, let alone end consumers.
The number of admissions in the article are exceptionally revealing.
It would make for an excellent commercial law case study.
I'm fairly certain FF hide behind force majeure on a weekly basis.
Maybe our monthly debit orders should also be 'best effort', proportional to the level of service received.Unfortunately there is no SLA with us, the end user. It's "best effort". For an SLA they'd make you sign up for business fibre at the associated inflated cost.
Mine will be non-existent when Openserve get to my block and light up their fibre! Just got to dovetail cancelling Vox/Frogfoot with signing up and getting Openserve/AN Other ISP running as we WFH 4 days of the week and cannot be without Internet as a result.Maybe our monthly debit orders should also be 'best effort', proportional to the level of service received.
At the very least, FTTH prices have come down a lot in recent years.Mine will be non-existent when Openserve get to my block and light up their fibre! Still need to decide who to go with. As long as it's inexpensive and I can get 50Mbps (or faster for a lower price) I'll go for it.
