FTTH Port Elizabeth

No love for Newton Park.

I wonder why since it is mostly businesses on the Burt Drive side that could benefit from it

Well, other cities have many fibre providers. Here it's just Openserve. Haven't heard about anyone actually signing up with MTN, and it wouldn't matter much anyway as MTN only seems to be rolling out to areas that already have Openserve (real genius made that decision).

If you check the coverage map you'll see a fair chunk of PE qualifies for fibre atm.
 
The Dark Fibre Africa network is now live according to their map. The Vodacom map also shows that a couple of houses in Framesby, Woodlands, Springfield, etc. are currently In Progress.

Are Dark Fibre providing FTTH in PE?
 
Dark Fibre normally provide services to (licensed) ISP's normally, not end users.

There is an exception in a few estates and office parks in JHB and CT as far as I know.

The map is of their backbone
 
2 weeks ago we had 2 guys from Carrier Select (JHB - http://carrierselect.co.za/) come survey our building.
Apparently they surveyed quite a few buildings in PE

I cant seem to find any mention of them here on the forums, and it doesn't look like its an open access network :/
