My car is standard with the Santiago 19s and even on a flat road maintaining 90kmph steadily, my real-time consumption hovers around 5.2
I would probably only get less if I were on a flat road driving around 60kmph since that is where I noticed consumption is at its least.

Travelling at about 100 to 110 odd. Zero software done. Have the standard 18s (Austin).

The Santiago 19s are actually optional. The standard for the 7.5 are the 18s (forgot the code name).

Your real time sounds similar to mine. Maybe I get slightly lower numbers because I coast sometimes and use momentum?

Yeah sorry, I meant standard software-wise.
I had a loner set of 18s on at one point while the dealership was troubleshooting what they believed to be noise coming from one of the rims and did notice better consumption.

I'll try playing around with the coasting in eco mode a bit more and see what I can get.
I usually set mine up with the individual setting and engine set to eco.
That disables the coasting which confuses my wife when she drives but still changes gears early.
 
Merc C300 at 140km/h on N3 8.1l/100km not bad for 3 litre, but I will admit it needs a bit of speed to be economical.
 
Driving ±95km/h on the N2 from Somerset West to work in Woodstock. After peak traffic. Also turned off the climate control to see how much of an impact it would have.

Driving at that speed is really not for me. Normally I'm at 125km/h.

Do both cars have the same engine and gearbox

my wifes jazz 1.4 we used to drive little longer distances (+-20km) and used to get between 6-6.5

now we do a few km return trip to school and back with 50 robots and stops and its gone to 7-8

my triton 3.2d averages around 11 in city driving

on the little longer highways it comes down to 9.5

Umhlanga to White River, 657km, 5.5l/100km, Renault Sandero Stepway 900T. I was experimenting to see at which speed the car is most economical. Consumption figures look pretty similar between 90 and 120km/h

Did 450 km on 37 litres. First click fill ups. Was expecting much worse as I hammered the car quite a few times.

Drove to Cape Town on friday, drove there in peak traffic and drove back at lock up speeds. Traffic was crap as well. Not nearly as bad as it could've been.

I was coming here to moan about my 2010 2.2 iCTDi, but I feel much better now, thanks :laugh:

Since we have a Q5 as well, my car is pretty much relegated to 100% city driving and commuting. No long distance road trips for at least the last 2 years.
