Now to avoid the temptation of trying to convince her that you understand where you went wrong and that you'll do better if she gives you another chance.

This was actually a temptation on Sunday after making the realisations - but bounding to her and telling her "I know what went wrong" is merely reinforcing the lap dog attitude I developed.

Thats awesome - never memorised her number ...

Give yourself 6 months, and you should be good to go! Don't lose yourself in a relationship again - keep your identity - see it as parallel universes. You occupy the same space, abide by the same universal laws, but harbour your own alien forms and concepts.

Regards, ET

I reckon I will be ok after 1 - 2 months when the initial, I have no one to buy dinner for/ run baths for and generally look after wears off.

Thanks for the advice, I like your writing style btw - I'll message you in 1 -2 month to see if you're single ^_^

It is really hard to get over someone you have been with for a while especially if you really love them and it id not expected. Just keep busy busy busy and try not to see them..

Yeah 7 damn years!

Not my first gf, but my first real and true love. I was the happiest guy in the world when I was with her. We were together for 5 months. It was the most amazing 5 months of my life, I felt invincible, happy and just loved living. We went to the same school together, for 5 months I actually woke up in the morning looking forward to going to school lol. Meh, it ended, and I'v been scarred ever since.

0.o - I started the official "I hate valentines day" club at work yesterday - dressed all in black and threw dirty looks at happy couples.

Well I wouldnt say Iv been crying about it for the last 7 years. I stopped crying about it also like 3 - 4 months after. But the effects are still there. I do miss her, and I just hope she is happy. I guess I'v learnt to adapt to not having her around, continue with my life, but I do still wish that things were different.

Here's another tip. If she ever tries calling you, don't answer. If she sms', you delete it without reading.

I should add that most of my advice is knowledge I learnt the hard way i.e. I don't listen to my own advice. If you're gonna be dumb, you've gotto be tough.
