Only gripe I have with CellC is that coverage is sometimes patchy in the boondocks, but apart from that they perform quite well.

That's decent.
I'm doing mine exclusively via email and a business account I have with Telkom. Informed them 6 weeks ago of my intentions to port over to them.
Was hoping to be live on the Telkom network by now. Waiting...

The porting site says my number has been ported and serviced by Vodacom... That's a port that happened maybe 4 years ago? Anyway... I wasn't expecting this to be a painless process. Will just wait it out I guess...

One thing I forgot to mention. The speeds are much faster than VC phone is always on 4g and it's very quick

Still on Vodacom...
The total time will take 24 hours from vodascum sms that they've ported you. I went through it a month ago and am still enjoying my prepaid telkom service.

On your Telkom portal, was your Voda number there or some random one till you eventually got ported?
Was a random number, but a 2 minute call to the help desk via the portal livechat system and it got switched to my 082 number

I asked about the sim and was told I'd be using the same sim, no new sim... Mmmmm...

Yeah, that's how it usually works and I assumed that would be the case but nope, the rep I'm dealing with specifically stated not!! Ai!! I sense pain is just around the corner but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for at least the next 24 hours!
Do you have a telkom simcard yet? If not you're wasting your time doing things via email. Best get into a store and start process with a real person.

Yep!
Speeds are decent sitting around 18Mbps. Testing next to my LTE uncapped which gets 40 though.
Only issue so far is bank smses take too long. Might be bank though.
