Google Nexus 5

So I got the OTA notification for 5.0.1 this morning and happily hit "Install". It rebooted my phone then showed an error regarding the expected fingerprint. After lots of googling, it turns out the OTA won't install if you have TWRP and/or a custom kernel. Some more googling and an XDA post explained that the WUG Toolkit would reset the phone to the stock (!!!), allowing the update to load properly. I was lulled into a false sense of security after I updated from 4.4 to 5.0 using adb and retaining all my data. Sighhhhhh

After loading 5.0.1, all my messages and app settings were gone! So now it's a lovely schlep to get things as close to the previous configuration as I can

Yeah, you won't be able to do the OTA normally if you have a different recovery or Kernel. If you want to update via OTA you have to flash the stock Recovery and Kernel first. You can do that without loosing any data, then the OTA will complete normally.

Otherwise you could download the OTA zip file and then sideload that.

I've always flashed the modem, boot, system image files etc via separately via fastboot. It always seemed to work.

Its been about a day no one would be able to tell yet.
Ok I've been on 5.0.1 for about a week or so now. Getting the best battery yet on AOSP with Note 3 tho.

Agreed, my usage so far on a OTA of the 5.0.1. Mainly WhatsApp and Emails today.

Nothing for a definite ... Could be a specific version related to only the N7
Maybe. But our AOSP branches committed it a couple days back. Not sure what the change logs are like also. But hey any update can only be a good thing.

Unless it's iOS
