Didn't charge me a dime. And I don't know why.

I believe that a similar company was also having a great deal on the Nexus One for just over $620 with shipping included. The company was Shipito. Look in the special offers section.
 
@saidin - What proxy did you use please? and did you get MYUS to repackage as a gift?
 
For those that have the N1, you obviously want to order a protector film to protect your precious screen from scratches. Word of warning: DO NOT order ZAGG's InvisibleShield. its ***!

I was very careful to install it in a clean environment but the card they provide to smooth out the bubbles actually damaged the film, leaving a couple of stretch marks. I have since re-ordered from a different manufacturer that's pretty well rated off the http://www.googlenexusoneaccessories.com/ site (skinomi techskin). Also ordered a rubberized snap on case (which is compatible with the OEM pouch that came with the phone) for when i drop the thing (its gonna happen)

Im using a Motorola Milestone at the moment. And I certainly can give big kudos to Google for the Android OS, and releasing their own phone. I think it makes a great package, looking forward to them being available locally.

I've used Zagg's products on my last 3 phones, and have the N1 full body shield on a shelf, waiting for my phone (landing 12 March) - I hope you're wrong! Was this the first Zagg shield you've applied? Am hoping it was user error in your case, as they've applied easily enough for me in the past. But I noticed the raves Skinomi's product was getting too, and was tempted - please let us know how that and the case work out for you.
 
No you're right, I am a bit of a novice at applying protectors having only done it once before on my iphone, so I'm sure you'l have better luck than I did. But for me, I found the Zagg application very tricky this time round. Hope the Skinomi product turns out to be more user friendly, ordered 2 sets this time round just in case :) Let me know how you get along with it, would dig to know if I balls'd it up the first time but I really wasn't impressed.

I saw a Youtube video of someone trying to scratch their N1 screen with keys and there was not a scratch. It seems pretty scratch resistant

I still would get a cover for it. I saw a similar video of someone doing that with a Zune 80Gb, and after a year mine had a scratch in the top corner.
Oh and i don't have a habit of walking around with diamonds in my pocket with my zune so it rules that out as an explination :P.
Better safe than sorry i say.

I watched that video, brave dude :) Gotta agree with Monkey though, scratch resistant isn't scratch proof, better to have two layers of protection than one I say. I've read posts of users who have have found little scratches on their screen so that's good enough for me to justify a screen protector.

I also found the glass to be a total fingerprint magnet and I'm wiping the screen far less with the protector on, so for that reason alone i think its worth that extra layer.

Another thing I've always liked is the feel of the screen protectors (as indicated earlier, I'd be talking about Zagg's stuff here) - there's a slight tackiness, which makes the device feel more firm in the hand.

I setup my own proxy on a VPS. Wasn't about to use some 3rd party solution and give away credit details. I didn't give any special instructions to MyUS.

My entire process was:

- create a MyUS account ($10 plan) linked to my residential address in SA
- verify the credit card by replying with the amount they billed for
- connect to google.com/phone through a proxy
- place the order (another credit card verification step here)
- wait 3 days (read: refresh DHL tracking ticket like mad)
- MyUS billed me for the DHL charges (was around $85)
 
How long does Google take to bill your credit card and process the order? I ordered last night but have not had any activity on my credit card yet?
 
Around 6-12 hours.

Some other points:

First day I had no 3G/.. because the network takes 24 hours to register your phone.
Second day I used my phone aggressively (mostly EDGE) and left all functions (WiFi, GPRS..) on even though I wasn't using them. 12 hours later I had just over 20% battery left. I'm pretty happy with that.
Third day I used the phone even more aggressively, but this time I joined the WiFi network at work. 12 hours later I had over 50% battery left.

By "aggressively" I mean I left GMail/GTalk/Twitter/IRC open all day and took photos, calls and sent an MMS or two. I pretty much used it every second I could and didn't waste time with task killers or manually managing power. Total bandwidth cost for 12 hours of EDGE was around R15 (pay as you go), although I'm going to move to a contract soon.

So if you're worried about battery, don't be. It's pretty clear you can get two days use out of one battery charge. If you aren't wasteful (e.g. leaving GPS on while you're sitting at your desk all day) and do some other tricks (turning brightness down, disabling data roaming) you can probably squeeze 3 days out of it. I won't be bothering with that. My phone needs to comfortably last a day (16 hours is my goal) and it can do that pretty happily. If you DO want to be careful about your power consumption, just add the power widget to your home screen and then it's a 1-press to disable/enable functions.

Got the confirmation - hopefully all goes well now. You mentioned 3 days to get your phone. Was that from MyUS to here?

I think I will put on that power widget, and the 2G 3G widget I saw on another thread.

I was watching the stress test videos on youtube for the phone. Awesome build quality it seems. and the screen is scratch resistant (youtube proof of that as well)
