Absolute rubbish.
Their license has been extended for a further 5 years.
Another importer paid for certain investigations to go ahead against them.
Because he lost his sole agency
;)
I know this because I know the guys at DSG.
As I said i have dealt with them for years. Never 1 issue

Can you provide some proof? These guys are still on bail, so how can charges be withdrawn ..

? There is not just one charge.
They withdrew majority as they were crap.
So still on bail on a few charges. Not all withdrawn

I bought at least 5 guns there.
Innocent until proven guilty.
Do you work for another dealer or agent?
Everyone knows that a certain importer was behind that case because he lost the agency to a popular firearm. Do you perhaps work for them?
Dsg are a great bunch of guys and always have the best prices

Who was the importer if you dont mind me asking? Just so I know in future. You can pm me if you like.

Gun shops stick together. I've never heard of this rivalry that he's talking about. We'll find out in a few months when they go back to court. In the mean time you are risking a lot by buying from them. If they close, you may have to wait a long time to get your purchase.

Its easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission. If you conceal your FA well enough not one person will notice unless you have to pass through metal detectors or thorough searches..

Yeah, thats going to do wonders for firearm owners. Sneak guns around people who dont want them around them.

I enjoy shooting and guns, but remember theyre not really going to improve your safety. If anything they increase your risk dramatically. You have way more chance of getting shot by your own gun than by a bad persons gun.

I use firearms for range shooting, clay pigeon shooting and hunting. Im not under any delusions that they bring down risk for me.

Yeah but when Sipho and his friends have broken into your house one night, you'll be glad you have it.

You sound like GFSA.

I see Dave Sheer will be in court on Wednesday again.

I am sorry but I dissagree 100% with your statement. And getting shot with your own gun stats are bull I am sorry. Those are stats the GFSA try to push down on the public. It is also not sneaking it around people that dont want them. If they dont like them I will just leave their company. If they want to have an adult conversation with me regarding firearms I am more than willing to chat to them.

Safety does not stop with acquiring a FA, you have to train and train and train as much as possible. It also does not mean I can now relax at home and leave my doors open.

If you and I walk down the street and 2 guys approach us with knives, who do you think will have the upper hand?

Dave Sheer:
http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-courts/top-cop-axed-over-gun-saga-1.1672115#.U0KKSyee57A
In short, Brigadier Mathapelo Miriam Mangwani, the former head of the CFR, was fired after her disciplinary process. It does seem to validate her accuser's (the ex-employee of Dave Sheer Guns) claims that she was tasked to bribe Mangwani by Dave Sheer Guns.

Covering of FA:
According to the Firearms Control Act, 2000:
1)No person may carry a firearm in a public place unless the firearm is carried –

a)in the case of a handgun—

i)in a holster or similar holder designed, manufactured or adapted for the carrying of a handgun and attached to his or her person; or

ii)in a rucksack or similar holder; or

b)in the case of any other firearm, in a holder designed, manufactured or adapted for the carrying of the firearm.

2)A firearm contemplated in subsection (1) must be completely covered and the person carrying the firearm must be able to exercise effective control over such firearm.

*Edit - changed reference from individual to company

I think you need to be more careful about your liberal usage of "Dave Sheer". Dave Sheer sold his company Dave Sheer Guns a few years ago. He isn't the accused in these trials.

Good point, thanks. I've updated my post to reflect the company rather than the individual.

Its more likely it will be used on me.

You sound like GFSA.
Awesome, do they like hunting and shooting like I do? Sounds like great people then.

I see Dave Sheer will be in court on Wednesday again.

Im too lazy to even google who that is. Should I care?

I am sorry but I dissagree 100% with your statement.
100% irrelevant if you disagree. Im just quoting what multiple supporting studies have said: http://aje.oxfordjournals.org/content/160/10/929.full

And getting shot with your own gun stats are bull I am sorry.
Opinions are like *******s and everyone has one. Your opinion does not carry the same weight as multiple academic studies.

Those are stats the GFSA try to push down on the public.
I have no clue who GFSA even are until it was mentioned. I like guns so I dont see the relevance? Perhaps its just people with dodgy points trying to use logical fallacies in a debate? Who knows....

If you and I walk down the street and 2 guys approach us with knives, who do you think will have the upper hand?
Why not four guys with ninja stars vs a guy with a bazooka?

You guys kneejerk so badly. You like guns.. I get that (I like guns).... but you like them so much you let confirmation bias completely blind you to the negative impacts of owning one. Its easier in your reality to ignore multiple studies done on the issue than face reality of the consequences of firearm ownership.

Studies: http://aje.oxfordjournals.org/content/160/10/929.full

Study after study seems to point to a similar conclusion: More guns mean more unnatural death.

A new survey in the Annals of Internal Medicine narrows down some of the causal relationship between guns and death by finding conclusively that having a gun in your home makes you more likely to successfully attempt suicide. The authors of the survey also found with a lesser degree of certainty that people with guns in their home are more likely to be the victims of a homicide.

It seems with a lot of gun owners, there is no middle ground with you blokes. Seems one cant like guns, but understand they increase risk. Its either. You hate guns or you love guns in your world.

You claim to know about guns, but you don't know who GFSA is, or even Dave Sheer, who are Africa's biggest distributor/dealer of firearms much less that they are in the pooh.

Maybe this is not the thread for you.
