I think my Z97 mobo has died and I can't seem to source a replacement, so it seems I will have to sell my old i7 4790 and DDR3 RAM to fund an upgrade.

Any good deals on maybe an i5 9400F combo?

Supplier still have h81 boards in stock, that will work.

Trusted brand... it's the one brand I don't even look at :p Too many failures from various components/devices they make

Then you must had bad luck.

Been in IT 30 years and always been using gigabyte components to build pcs - with only a handful of issues. The guys distributing it (Rectron) has always been very helpful when there were issues though

Takealot had the WD blue m.2 250gb sata ssd for R409 two days ago, price is back to normal now though

The price jumps to R733 when you add it to your cart, which is not good
Price on their website has increased since I made my post above (even before adding to cart)

Price on takealot website also increased to R867 so still cheaper on supplier website
