Harmony Remote

Hey

So my Logitech Harmony 600 remote decided to die on me yesterday! Go to Makro to get a new one only to realise that they do not stock them anymore. So start surfing the net only to realise after contacting Logitech South Africa, that Logitech no longer sells them in South Africa.

The issue is that I bought the remote at Makro for R350 which was a steal but if you want to buy them from overseas the remote (Harmony 650) is about $ 59 dollars before shipping costs get added.

So I was hoping someone on the forum might have an idea of were I can source one locally (maybe a retailer somewhere still has stock) or cheaply on the net?

Do you have to stick to the 600??
What about the 1100 - I have one of these and they are great!
 
I have two 700s and they're great. Paid R400 odd bucks from Cybernatic about a year ago iirc.

Just did a quick search and Have2Have are advertising them for R2500.00 :wtf:

The Harmony One they're selling for R4500.00

How do they get away with that?! :eek:

Yes that is the problem that I am having. The prices are ridicules, the price of a Harmony One or 1100 is enough to rather buy a tablet and use it as a remote.
 
try Axis..picked up the One for R900 exlc vat. but that was last year June

Logitech remotes are no longer available in South Africa however we found two Logitech Harmony 300i remotes in our stores after a clean-up last weekend these are very old stock and don’t actually have any warranty left on them , but brand new stock
Stk 915-000153 in Midrand , they currently in the Xpress Store Midrand in the clearance section @R199.00 excl vat –First come first serve basis

must have been sold to them at an exchange rate of R6.00/USD$ 1 as our last cost was R179.00excl vat
grab them at that price , as you cannot buy them anywhere in South Africa ,in fact buy them and sell to me @R179.00 excl
 
I went last night to incredible connection Menlyn and got 1 , for R129.

I just can't get my XBMC media center to "see it"
i have a Isonic remote control + IR Receiver....does anyone know what to do?
 
Oh, this is sad. My Harmony One's battery is going, and I thought it'd be easy to replace it. Doesn't seem likely anymore, though.

Amazon sells them. Will probably have to use something like postbox-courier
 
Yeah, it's a really weird decision by Logitech South Africa not to distribute them anymore
 
I would die if mine breaks now. I thought they just temporarily stopped bringing them in?

Perhaps a decision made by Logitech itself. Perhaps SA is a more price-sensitive market and we simply don't draw the numbers to justify the Harmony range distribution.

Irrespective, I agree that it is a stupid decision. We have one of the largest emerging middle classes in the world and they have a well established brand here...
 
My harmony 900 is collecting dust. maybe i should start using it or sell it lol.
 
I have 2 700's, hope they last. Pity they don't sell them anymore.
