Anyone got VOLTE working on MTN? I have the option checked in settings but got no info on it in the notification area

When you are on 4G dial a number. If it stays on 4g its working. If it's falls back to 3g it's not
 
Reason I was asking is a buddy was here with his S9+ yesterday and it says Volte in the notification area.

I battled with VoLTE on a Mate 10 Pro / Vodacom.

But the issue wasn't the handset, it was Vodacom. So after a week of chatting to Huawei / Vodacom and getting not getting much help, I got hold of the right person at Vodacom via MyBB ... we got it going (90% of the time). But geez it killed my battery and I removed it.
 
Had VoLTE on my P20 Pro/MTN. Since the change, I could hear everyone, but 80% of the time no one could hear me.

MTN said it wasn't them, even asked them to take me off VoLTE, but they didn't. Went to Huawei shop and they swapped the microphone free of charge whilst I waited, made no difference.

Then went into the MTN service shop and the techie took VoLTE option off my handset. Why couldn't the MTN Call Centre tell me to do that over the phone?

Anyway, I'm not on VoLTE anymore and have had no further issues.

The battery should last ages on the Mate 20 Pro without much tweaking. What kind of Screen on time are you getting?

That is very odd, out-the-box the phone should be giving great battery life as it is quite strict on task management.

As Park said, what is your current SOT and maybe check what apps are taking the most battery and post a screen shot, maybe we can get to the bottom of this

What is HD Widgets? I don't think it should be consuming that much battery, is it regularly refreshing?

You shouldn't even have to use Battery Saver on this phone.

If you want to tweak how things run go to:

Battery - App Launch - and Turn Off 'Manage Automatically' and then you can adjust each app according to what you'd like.

Also in App Launch hit the 3 dot button in the top right and open Launch Records, that should give an idea of what app is misbehaving.

Then you can also go to Battery - and click Optimize Battery Usage

How fascinating is it that the Battery life seems to get better with Performance Mode? Some days I turn it off and some days it's on, I still seem to get more battery when it's on, very interesting, could it be that the phone gets tasks completed quicker and therefor spends more time not working at a higher load? Are Animations turned down a tad bit? I just don't get it

Just got to bed now, phone still at 35% battery, will charge sometime later today, probably around lunch.

Suspect AI has control of device management when performance mode enabled.
