Hi All
Any ideas on what paint to use for Interior House.
Looking for high Sheen.
I see that Plascon double velvet and Dulux Luxurious silk are like R1600 /20l.
What option do i have, can i paint the 1st coat a cheaper one and then the expensive?

Plascon works best for me, I wouldn't skimp if I were you. Also do your prep properly and it will last a long time, has a 7 or 15 year guarantee.

I had a look and you get Plascon Acrylic PVA for R800. So could i paint this as 1st coat .
Then use Plascon Double velvet as 2nd coat?

I used a Dulux Kitchen and Bathroom Primer for my Kitchen, I will be going over it with the finishing off paint on Saturday.

I used dulux luxiours silk. It's washable so when the kids come draw on the walls, a bit of soap water washes it off.
Plascon double velvet I think is the same type.

Thanks Guys
So, since i am staying at this place for some time, i should go and spend on good paint R1600 /20l

If I'm going to spend that much on paint then I might as well get a professional painter to ensure that the work comes out perfectly.

Correct, i do have a professional painter.
I budgeted for paint for like R800 /20l and have to buy about 80l.
So now found out good interior paint is R1600 /20l :(

I use Plascon Double Velvet, it's well worth the money, as far as I know Dulux Luxurious Silk is similar

Honestly, some of the brands such as Fired Earth are also pretty bloody good in the R800 range.

Agreed and we've just painted the outside of our house with Fired Earth and it is pretty good for the price.

In the process of doing the same :)... and the inside will probably be done in Fired Earth when I get around to it soon enough.

A lot o f paint out there way cheaper than Plascon and also a lot better. Look at warrior paints for instance. NFW I will EVER pay R1600 for 20L.

That's a lot of paint. I find that I can paint a room, two coats, with 5l. I use Double Velvet.

In my previous house I first used fired earth when I repainted the second time I used luxurious silk. I ended up using half the amount of paint compared to the first time.

Did you drastically change the colour either time?
