There are very, very few ISP's in the western world that offer unlimited bandwidth. When I was in the UK (Which was up until 4 months ago), all the ISP's had fair usage policies. At least our ISP's dont terminate our accounts and hand over our details to the recording industry like in the UK (Virgin Broadband) when we download a torrent.
Hell, on my iPhone, with Uncapped Internet, I got a warning after doing more than 500mb!
It is standard practice.

Uncapped is an illusion because you're capped by
1. Time - only 28-31 days in a month.
2. Line speed.
3. Other - finding dls, setting them up, changing hard drives etc.

You do get fully uncapped options - they are just not the cheapest options available. In the US and UK you can get totally uncapped options, just that they cost 2-3x the cheap uncapped price.

Rather these options should be called FLAT RATED. You pay one amount and you can DL as much as you want.

In Canada ur standard line is about $20 you can use it as much as you want, but for users who want to run a server or need loads of bandwidth they have to fork out extra paying $39 which still only amounts to R280

This connection is like your old axxess express where you pay R899, but only without the throttling.

Then there is the huuuuuge line speed gap......overall even with these new 'uncapped' lines we are still being ripped off....u cant download.....u cant do this....u cant do that etc.

ISPs give ur information to the recording industries because of the new law passed that forces them to do so. Thats why u encrypt ur traffic!

The recording industry must adapt or die.....I think the latter will happen.
