Inverter/battery combo advice

try these guys - they deliver. I bought my kit from them

Thanks, does Ellies sell directly to the public? I would prefer buying from them as it is a reputable brand? Im unsure though, if I wanted to take my whole house off the grid, my requirements aren't massive. 2 Adults, 2rooms, 1pc, tv, bluray, phone, fridge, frezeer, and garage. Wonder if it would be much more to go completely off grid.

Question on these Mecer 2400va UPS inverters.

HOw long would i get on 2x 105ah Battery's ? (if the load is approximately 300watt)

Then... how often does one need to replace the battery's (think the one's i'm getting are Energizer 105ah Deep cycle battery's)

Then.... on the mecer 2400va (does it show you the wattage or battery percentages) ?

Assuming you run the batteries completely dead, about 6 hours.

waiting for my system to arrive. ordered 2x 105AH. and The mecer 2400va

Just to cover me for the loadshedding times (at least for the TV and DSTV and maybe a light or two - LED bulbs)

Dude that's more than enough for what you want to run. I have a 2.4kva with 2x100Ah batteries and I power my whole house (all LED lights) for up to 4 hours till 30% DOD.

Excludes the geyser, stove and kettle obviously but includes my espresso machine, microwave and fridges.

Would you have to put it together yourself though given that you are ordering seperately?

Will do, thanks. Any other suggestions guys?

Give me the weekend to test my home made system then I will be reselling them.

Prices will be the following.

R2700 For 300watt Inverter with charger built in + 100Ah deep cycle calcium acid battery (2 year guarantee on the battery) + Plastic housing.
R3500 For 720watt Mecer inverter with charger built in + 100Ah deep cycle calcium acid battery (2 year guarantee on the battery) + Plastic housing.
R5000 For the same setup as above with 2x 100Ah batteries.

Pricing is about 99% correct there is a small chance it might change .I am doing the testing this weekend.

I'd have to weigh this up carefully and compare to Ellies. But interested in the outcome of your test this weekend.

just as a comparison my setup:

1000w PSW inverter = R2500 - 00 ( bought from friend - new)

102Ah battery = R1100 - 00 (First National Battery)

660W UPS = R1299 - 00 (Macro Cpt)

total = R4899 - 00

powers my:

Dual View SD PVR

51' CRT tv

14w LED light

+-300w = 3hrs
