So I should not charge the batteries right after I have used them

The ups sometimes don't understand the bigger type bateries
So the state of charge can be out
An example I am running 5 amp from a 100ah battery for a hour . There should be 95ah or 95% left but ups think battery sits at 80%
You can use that chart to check state of charge

I don't charge the batteries via the ups, I am using the stage 3 external charger

600w 12v inverter/ups (modified or pure sine) with one 12v100ah battery will give you the 2 hours .so whats the price on an inverter/ups with 105ah battery setup ? (an all in one combo already assembled - plug and play so to say)
I know people advise this inverter.. and that battery and some even suggest special battery chargers etc..
My setup is simple.. 47inch LCD tv with DSTV decoder. (my load is 280watts) and i need it to be running for 2hours to 2.5hours
I have an "kill a watt" the tv/decoder sometimes use 250watt and sometimes go upto 275watt and 280watt. I've never seen it go over 280watt ever.
Any ideas ?

Sure hope you have a top quality battery that doesn't mind being discharged over 50%I have a 500w inverter with one 102Ah battery and my setup last 3.5 hours. (never tested it till it dies).

can you see on your setup howmuch of the battery is used? (does it show 50% used - or 50% capacity free)
