iOS 5 details

Feels like after each update the iOS gets more and more complex to try and keep up with it's competitors, not sure if it's a good thing.

iMessage is an interesting addon, it shows that apple does feel blackberry have a winning application there. Will it steal away BBM users? Highly doubt it - Same reason whatsapp, gtalk and the many other chat programs haven't stole the BBM crowd.

The BIS (and cheaper alternatives of bb phones) is what makes BBM king, nothing quite like sending random pictures/movies and messages for "free".

Yup, revolutionary is now copying.
We will remember this day forever :P

Seems like they copied the notification system from Android.

How does a BBM user communicate with an iMessage user? Through the postoffice.

My cousin in the US pays nothing to use Whatsapp on his Nokia, when sending videos to me...
He uses 3G, and I use WIFI - 'cos in SA we have to pay for data...

i really really thought they would let us update to iOS5 now.

And looks like they're trying to get their camera more like on windows phone - with going from the lock screen to camera and storing photos in the cloud, although on wp its still one step shorter.

In a while you'll have people saying that apple invented that notification system and android copied them.

As long as data charges exist I am sticking to my BBM on BIS thank you very much. Also most of these "new" features are not innovative. Its stuff that has been copied from BB and Android. Disappointing

So with iMessage all Apple fanboys can talk about Apple's superiority. Hopefully at the end of each day they won't bother anyone else. That aside ( :-P ), I would not bother. Why split communication between brands? I do not understand this. I know BBM is widely used and apparently loved by many people. Maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way.

And getting super pissed-off or shocked when you tell them it was Android.

BTW, they're copying widgets too, so be prepared to hear (over and over) how the Crappstore has sixty quintillion widgets, even though most are fart widgets or something equally useless, and almost none are free.

No they're not

.

Someone pointed out that the button is in the wrong place anyway - when you hold the phone and try use that volume button, it's hard to get yrou finger out the way - there's a reason phones with a REAL camera button have them on the opposite side to the camera.

Also - how does the auto-focus work with the volume-up button? Is it a multi-stage button like WP7? Or do you still have to tap the touchscreen to do that?

I'm still wondering how modern phones classify as "innovative" since they all try to copy the iPhone haha. Disappointing.

Copied functions is never disappointing, in fact as long as they copy from each other we win. Its when the copy stops that you know something is wrong.
