Ok I’m almost done setting up the phone and got around to doing a 5G speedtest.

Considering this is nowhere special, just Fairland JHB … I’d say this is decent:

So today was the day I could finally upgrade my contract with Vodacom. Arrived early at iStore Clearwater … first person in … told they’re all sold out of iPhone 14 Pro Maxes AND Pros. They put me on a waiting list.

Hah! Incredible Connection and Vodacom Clearwater both have no devices either. Got in my car and hit the highway … Vodacom Online confirmed they had nothing. Vodacom Mall of Africa and Menlyn also nothing. Then I called Vodacom Sandton City … and they had ONE Pro Max 14 256GB in purple. Absolutely perfect. Raced over there, and the rest is history.

I managed to add a Watch Series 8 to my contract too, so I’m making a big commitment to the Apple ecosystem (up to now I’ve only had an iPad). Wish me luck with all this setup!

Congratulations and welcome! I to was mostly an iPad user before moving fully into the Fruity ecosystem :laugh:
 

They really are as good as he says lol

Apple must have pumped a lot on R&D because while these look just like the old ones they are -nothing- alike

iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4 level upgrade
 
I'm using both my AirPods and Aeropex at the same time with ANC on... quite a sensation having normal audio and bone induction at the same time. Super useful if you turn on transparency mode, you hear everything around you fine and have two audio sources playing
 
Hi guys, I took out a new MTN Contract for the 14 Pro. The phone was delivered last week with a SIM card and an MTN starter pack.

I went to an MTN store yesterday to try and port my prepaid MTN number to the new contract. They said that this this was not possible as I already have a number assigned to the contract.

I am not too confident about the staff at the store as according to them esim is also not available on MTN...

Any advise would be appreciated, tnx :)
 
Battery life on my 14 PM is pretty bad, it drained 22% last night from 22:00 -> 06:00am while I was asleep, with AOD being off and nothing showing up on the battery usage. This is also after a complete reset I did on Friday. So it's not looking good atm.

More likely an iOS 16 issue than a 14 Series issue. My battery life took a big dip before I upgraded from my 13 Pro Max thanks to iOS.

Yea I’m sure it’s iOS rather than some device lottery. Could also still be indexing as I did a reset.
