iPhone 14 discussions

Anyone here on MTN can check if they have a cellular option under settings?

Thanks, any idea why I would be missing it? I realised I didn't have this even on my previous phone, might be something funky with my sim/contract...
No idea
Even if there is NO SIM inside mine shows...

It was on my iPhone 12 and now the iPhone 14

On some devices it's called Mobile Data. But it is the same menu. I can't remember the reason for the difference in naming conventions.

iStore is offering "free icare" with every new purchase but these are the t&c's. Basically forcing you into recieving spam from them. Absolutely trashy anti-consumer tactic. Opt out of their marketing 1.5 years from now and lose your icare....
What is "trashy and anti-consumer" about this? You don't have to take the free icare package and are most welcome to pay for the extra warranty and not get their spam.

Nothing peculiar about it. Your choice to pay the few quid or to receive the marketing emails.

Per definition not spam. Also, they are open about it, so you enter willingly into an agreement.

It differs because of the language selected on the iPhone.

Cellular Data and Mobile Data are in English (UK) and English (US) respectively.

Here’s another such example.

In Android, if you select English (US), it says ‘Airplane mode’ for Flight mode.

Really don’t get the issues people mentioning with iPhone 14 Pro’s and battery life. AoD on, I don’t have any widgets on my lock-screen. 70% of the time on WiFi. CarPlay and navigation. And still get 7hrs SOT minimum.

Running the phone down now from 100% (last charged last night 10pm) and at 48%.

@AfricanTech how are things on your end?

Edit : finally charging now

Interesting, thanks. I found what I was looking for under Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options -> Voice & Data.

haha, if the price changes I will probably pass.

Some people are super impatient I think, it takes sometime for the battery to settle, especially if you did a restore.
This is amazing battery life!

That might be it as I chose to finally start from a clean slate this time.
Also think those lock screen widgets also chow battery life if they pull any data not in your phone

Battery is cooked on my 14 PM with the same load as my 13 PM...

Its has to enter power savings around 3-4pm else it won't be alive by the time I get home.

Well that's not normal. Does Apple have a battery monitor that shows you if a specific app is hogging all that battery?
