Hi guys

I have been experiencing a problem for quite a while now with my data connectivity when in certain areas... like WITS. I would have good 3G reception, but no connectivity whatsoever. And the same thing goes for EDGE connectivity. When this happens, I'm forced to manually roam onto the Vodacom network to get any connectivity and then too, it's only EDGE (understandably).

This has been going on since around March and at first I assumed that it was related to the problems that Cell C were having at the time, but now it's been going on for way too long.

If there are any Cell C reps here: Please Help!! And, is anyone else having these problems with their Connectivity.

Also, I'm sorry if there is already a thread posted related to this as I couldn't find anything similar, and if there is, please point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

Hi "BhAvZzZ"

I assumed you "reset network settings" and "Enable LTE" is switched off. Please PM me your number and i'll get a tech to contact you. *DM*

I believe there is a fundamental flaw in the way CellC handles smartphone data, iPhone 5 included. No ability to automatically select the correct frequency band or down select from LTE to 3G to EDGE to GRPS. Several people are experiencing the same issue as you, no matter how you complain or raise it, it is not resolved.

Good luck.

Issue is, since IoS6.1.4, which enabled LTE, you cannot disable 3G to get EDGE. So the iPhone continues to try 3G, full signal and in a congested area nothing comes through. Before 6.1.4, you could disable 3G and get minimal connectivity. Now nothing. Issue only exists in congested areas.

I noticed that it was happening, but it's been happening pretty much since I got the phone. And for me, even switching to edge I would have zero connectivity. The only way I would get any connectivity at all would be to force the phone onto vodacom's 2G network. And I got the phone in January, so I would have expected it to be resolved by now!

Have had these same issues since December with my iPhone 5. The first two weeks was fine, after that useless. I can never come close to depleting my 500MB per month.

You can highlight the issue till you blue in the face and nothing happens. CellC just ignore your problems.

I actually find it not that bad. Recently upgraded to a iphone 5 from cellc and it works well. It could be cause I have a okayish 3G speed but it sticks to 3G unless there is absolutely nothing then changes to edge....

I think its better this way cause lets be honest the EDGE on cellc basically has not throughput at all. You will be lucky to get 10kb downloaded in a hours time....
