Iphone 5 or Nokia Lumnia 920?

Hi Everyone
I am indicisive on wether to get an iphone 5 or lumnia 920..lastyear i told myself that when my upgrade comes I go with lumnia 920 but now that the time have arrived I am looking also at Iphone 5,it seems as if everyone makes iphone app first and nokia people come later,I also heard about siri and just how an iphone is intelligent phone now im conflicted,I love nokia i am currently using nokia n8,which phone should I choose? Iphone for its so called intelligent phone or nokia for its slowly but surely innovation?

I hear you can start a car using siri?! how true is that? and how hungry the phone is on data? will 500mb last? I read, twit,facebook,play music"simfy africa",try apps and just everything,

PS: I don't play games so you can omit angry birds benefits et al.

Yes Siri can start your car but I don't think that Viper Smart Start is available in SA. If you're in SA that is.
 
Nobody can tell you what phone to buy. Only you can decide. It's very simple:

1. Do you like the look and feel?
2. Does the OS have all the UX features you need?
3. Are all the apps you want available now or in development now?
4. Is the hardware what you want?
5. Are all the accessories you want available now?

See, simple.
 
For your list of activities, 500MB will not be enough. I suggest you use wifi for the SimFi and podcasts.
 
I can tell you I just went through this exercise and I went with the iphone for the following reasons:

Great build quality and I like that they didn't try to make the screen excessively large
Drop tests I saw online (pretty importnant to me)
Safe and well managed, easy to use apps environment - I am not a developer and if there is a good one I am happy to pay for it
price - on Cell C it worked out to R4500 (maybe less if you take the data bundle in to account) - R399 p/m (also went Cell C for great call and data costs OOB)
Lumnia is the N9 which has already been around for a while
Apple closed environment vs Microsoft - Apple is a clear winner here although I would love to


I am loving the iphone 5:) No fanboy, but nice to just have everything working slick and smooth.
 
I had to make a similar decision yesterday - approach the sales guys and ask if you could handle some demo models - you will instantly know which is 'your phone' going by physical interaction (not just website reviews)
 
I got the Lumia 920 about a week ago and its an awesome phone. I also had a look at the S3, Iphone 5 but in the end took the 920, the apps that I need they have and I'm sure we will see a increase in app dev for the WP8 OS.
 
Siri isn't all that useful. I wouldn't make a decision based on it in any case. The Lumia 920 is an ENORMOUS phone, don't forget that. Not just the screen size, it's generally very bulky and heavy. So see if you can at least feel it before deciding.
If mapping and voice navigation is important to you, then go for the Lumia.

Apple Store has Google Maps, Garmin, Nokia Maps, etc etc etc. Why you reckon 920 is a better choice?

I agree the 920 is a bit large which can be a problem if you have small hands.

As for drop tests I'm not sure the iPhone 5 is more durable than a 920:

Apple wins in terms of App selection. I will take a few years before Windows catches up.

Price is probably the same if you compare 32g iPhone 5 to Lumia 920.

Lumia 920 is not the same as the N9! Just like the iPhone 5 is not the same as the 4s.

WP8 is also a closed environment.

Who asked about Android? OP is comparing iPhone 5 to Lumia 920 (iOS 6 vs WP8)
 
I would go for the iPhone 5. Windows phone 8 is not where it needs to be vs the competition. You will probably end up in a situation where you want an app and won't find a suitable alternative in the windows phone store. You will just be limiting yourself.
