Yeah same here,the day I started looking past the isheep and the idolizing of a tech product is the day I actually decided to go out see the merits of their(Apples) products instead of listening to cult like behavior,today I use my iphone 5 over my s4 but I still cant understand these cult like isheep,what on earth goes through these peoples heads,its a damn tech company for crying out loud!
Ok as for the announcement I cant help but feel Apple has just basically fleeced its lower end customers because instead of selling the beautiful metal clad iphone 5 as the base version like what the iphone 4 was to the 4s they instead decided to put it in a plastic case that looks exactly like a Nokia and make a killing of cheaper production costs.
If they had priced it right then it would be cool but as it stands now at $549 - pathetic move from Apple.
The 5s seems a worthy upgrade,they have ironed out my previous criticism of the dull looking black on black which scratched all on its own and they also made it look much better with a black on grey look.64 bit CPU/OS on a phone was inevitable just like the pc arena so good on them for making the first move.The iphone 5s screen size is actually perfect for those that don't want a big phone and I'm guessing that when they eventually increase the screen size they will do it with a separate model.
