iPhone 6 stock availability

I've strongly considered just going with an iPhone 5S and always stay one cycle behind and so always get stock easily. But they are still absurdly expensive compared to the iPhone 6, so not really worth it.
(I took a detour from iPhone 4S to Samsung Galaxy S4 and went back to iPhone quite quickly, but by then stopped my contract and somehow got stuck on an ageing iphone)

Don't bother. There are no 32GB or 64GB 5Ss available in SA right now. Telkom is only handing out 16GB models. iStore says they're waiting on the next shipment of 6s which they *hope* will include a batch of 5Ss.

WTA.

As far as I know, Apple have stopped making the 64 GB iPhone 5S (link)
So I guess what Core/iStore are hoping for in this next shipment are just more 16 and 32 GB 5S's. Just my guess, but don't go hoping too bad for the 64 GB 5S. That one may be a fossil from now on.

I went to iStore Menlyn yesterday and they said they will only get new stock of the iPhone 6 early next year.

Went to the Vodacom store just around the corner and got my iPhone 6 there. Not sure how iStore cannot have stock, but Vodacom can...but at least I got my new phone so I'm pretty happy.

16GB?

Mathematics comes to the rescue!
John's mom gives John gets 10 marbles. She also gives Peter 10. John trades all of his marbles for kisses from the marble-playing girls. Peter only trades 5 of his for kisses, because he has poor kissing technique.

John has no marbles left, and Peter still has five.

Now replace "John" with "iStore" and "Peter" with "Vodacom Store around the corner".

I hear a few people sounding very surprised that I can't get an iPhone 6 when all the people they know have gotten one long ago. Usually these are all 16GB models and I think anyone who gets one now is getting a 16GB one too. Even during the first rush, small Vodacom shops all had 16GB in stock, on premises. I don't know how people still want a 16GB. You can barely upgrade the OS with that, Apple really should have made it 32GB minimum.

Dear iStore Customer,

Thank you once again for your patience while waiting for your iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. There is still an overwhelming demand for these incredible products, and we’re doing our outmost to get them to you as soon as possible.

Thanks again - we will let you know as soon as the phones are in South Africa.

Kind regards,
Andrew Mundell
iStore CEO

How is this possible, I'm on the list from the Friday at launch, it's Christmas and not a phone yet, my number on the waiting list is less than 30, so how the hell cant they get a few phones from launch till now? Or do they not issue phones according to you place on the list?!
