They are announcing the iPhone and the Pricing plans today, the phone is officially launching on friday.

Yea, (imagine me saying this next message without sarcasm)
As apposed to the stupid way of bringing hype about the phone,
adverts, telling us about pricing models that seem affordable, getting us lank
keen, and making us want the phone...

Their way is much MUCH better.. Don't say anything. Frustrate possible customers, let any desire for the phone actually die-away due to annoyance in Vodacom.

Go Vodacom. I can't wait to not get one now :D

Agreed. I saw one the other day. Man, its pretty. I'd most certainly go for the Diamond over the iPhone.

Indeed, I though that this weeks announcement was another thing imagined on these forums, because I was sure that if this week was the launch week that they would have plastered the Sunday papers with adverts.
I wish I could lead the iPhone launch in this country, I would have gotten the masses viciously tearing down the glass fronts of vodashops all over the country, trying to get the iPhone, NO MATTER WHAT.

Can anyone (perhaps a Vodacom Rep) tell us when the media even will be happening today?

I know some mentally handicapped chimps that could have done a better job. It's very poor by Vodacom. And I hope that they lose money for it. So they will learn quickly.

Ok, been refreshing since like 11 this morning, and still no feedback. I am sweating, and it aint pretty. For some or other reason, I have not received any Mail or SMS yet, other than the ones we got like 3 weeks ago saying thank you for registering. Where is my Phone?
PS, anyone who says I should calm down, and that it is just a phone, is obviously no real geek, and should be spending their time investigating what food their new Laser mouse prefers.

Welcome to MyBB.
It's not your fault. It's completely Vodacom's fault. Pre-registering does not guarantee you a phone, in fact it does not mean anything at all...

There are plenty of people that share your annoyance. I do not however, I am over Vodacom's nonsense, and I no longer want the phone, because of Vodacom. (This coming from having an out-line of the iPhone in exact dimensions on my desk of where my iPhone was going to reside)
