Which one should i choose?

Iphone 3g or Itouch 32GB.

I hear they will be releasing the new gen of the Iphone 3g is this true or not.
I've looked at the diffrences and trying to choose.

Please let me hear your opinions

Do you want to make phone calls?

But then they'll prob release a new ipod Touch too thats what happed last time. But my advice(i have the touch) Get the iPhone. Not really to make calls its just irratating to need to be in a wifi spot just to check your mail etc. On the iphone you just use your 3G
Even if you get the 8GB iphone its more than enough, you cant watch or listern to 8GB's worth of music or video's before the battery runs out and you have to recharge so whats the use of having 32?

Well i travel alot so dats why i want the 32Gb so i dont get bored lol:)

Well looks like the iphone since it's all in one compared to the itouch.

Do you guys now when the newer version of the iphone is coming out by any chance

Dont forget the iPhone also comes in 16gb.

Not sure when the new one will be released.

Although a VODAFONE UK internal e-mail was leaked stating that the 16Gb iPhone is EOL, and going forward only 8Gb and new 32Gb will be available :(

That really makes no sense. They always cull the lowest spec'ed one. IOW - 8gb/16gb becomes 16gb/32gb.

Here's actually a comparison review:

After this fight, we wonder why the iPod Touch even bothered to show up in the ring. The iPhone emerged as the winner in all three rounds to take the title of the best multimedia device. Remember, we discounted the iPhone's "phone" functions from this contest to focus solely on the differences in design, available features, and media quality. While the iPod Touch certainly has some things going for it, the iPhone's beefier design, healthier feature set, and superior performance put it over the top.

Looks like Iphone is clear winner here , even without inserting a sim card ;)

However:

Ipod Touch : R4500
Iphone 3G 16gb : R7500

Take your pick.

The iphone you can get on some sort of phone contract and save some cash...ipod touch you'll probably need to put down the full amount.

diabolus

So u don't need a sim card even to use it like a itouch for eg:when u on a plane and wat not.:p

Nope! And if you wanna use it on the plane with a SIM in, then you just put it into Airplane mode!

My Sharp mobile has "Offline mode" too, but I am hesitant to use it, as air hostesses usually see a phone and believe that it is switched on. In most airliner info videos - they don't even mention that off-line mode may be used.

I propose my Cowon A3.

Why?

800 by 480 16.7 million colour screen
Support for H264 at better bitrate than the iPod/Phone
Support for MKV, AVI, MPG, MVM, MP4, WMV containers for video
Support for OGG, FLAC, MP3, WAV and other containers for audio
Support for MP4, XviD, DivX, MPEG2, MPEG1, MJPEG, WMV, H264 AVC video codecs
Radio receiver
Record analog inputted video at at 720by576 (25fps) or 720by480 at 30fps
Record audio via microphone
Record radio broadcast in stereo
View documents - eg PDF, TXT, etc
View JPEG, BMP, RAW (any size) files and zoom in
TV out
Playback video up to 1280 by 720 resolution on the screen or via external output
60GB or 80GB capacity
DVB-T capability (watch digital TV) - with optional add-on

Works with Windoze and my Mac Pro (Leopard) - no additional software installs necessary

All this means is that I can download and play virtually ANY file from the web.
I also have a wide selection of video and audio formats to select from when encoding something for the player and the screen is gorgeous, and I've only seen two such screens which were better - one is the 3 inch Sharp Aqous cellphone screen at 854 by 480 res in 16.7 mil colour and the other is the 3 inch external monitor for the Sony PWM-EX1 HD camcorder (res of 1920 by 480 at 16.7 mil colours).

Ok, I know this is an iPod thread but when they say "the best multimedia device." surely they only mean among the ones they're comparing.

Sorry for butting in....
