LCD and Plasma Bargains

I will have a dedicated Media player (Medeter, WD, AC ryan, or Compro NMC950) for that. If the picture quality is the same, I would rather get the 430.
I will be sitting about 2.5m away from the tv, so I'm not sure if 50" will be too big? I would then settle for the 42"

I've been pondering at the size issue for a while now as well as I'm sitting at more or less the same distance as you. But it seems like the common notion is bigger is better. :D

The price difference between the 42" and the 50" C430 is about R2.3k on that sale. I will go to Cats this afternoon before 17H00 and see side by side if the 8"(20 cm) difference is that big overall.

Trust me, when you in the store, you dont notice the size difference. When you take it home - it does make a difference.
Check out one of PP images, 10 feet (2.5m) - 50" should be ok.
 
I went to Cats yesterday in Woodmead. I just made it in time. The PS50430 was/is sold out. I was told they only had one left in their warehouse. Don't these guys always say that?

Anyway, I was looking at 46" LCD vs 42" Plasma sitting side by side. The size difference was very noticeable. So 50" should be even huge.
I didn't have enough cash, so I paid R2k deposit so that they hold it for me till month end. They agreed. I just hope they don't tell me stories come end of April.

I completely forgot about the license issue, since I owe. When I go back to Cats, I will tell them I'm buying it for someone else, who has an up-to-date license.
I wanted to buy a pc, but I couldn't resist this.

So you are buying the PS42C430? How much is it?

I can't go bigger than max 42" as it's in a wall unit.

What is the best option right now?

I had a similar issue, then said Fsk It, bought a circular saw and never looked back :)
Chopped-up my wall unit right in my lounge (just vacuumed most the dust afterwards :) )
 
hey pp,

samsung came and check my last ps42c450 and it had a faulty board and hdmi was going on the blink.
So now i just had to pick up my new ps42c450 (they said it was from a different batch) and got it home. picture still great but the buzz is there.

Now your plasma does its buzz change frequency and loudness according to the scene on the tv?
