Long weekend load-shedding plan revealed

Eskom plans to rotate between stage 1 and stage 2 load-shedding in the next few days, while completely suspending the power cuts for 11 hours on Sunday and Tuesday.

The utility said the reduction in load-shedding was possible due to a recovery in generating capacity over the past 48 hours and lower expected demand.

And doesn't power increase in the evening when everyone is home.

Wouldn't it be higher during the day because everyone will be home?

No not more than usual. Actually the peak will be less. During a normal working day most people do all their stuff at that crucial time after they get home from work. So during weekend and public holidays it should be spread out.

Suspect the maintenance schedule has been suspended and everything is now being run flat out to make the new MOE and Eskom board look peachy, proactive and productive.

Only going to make the situation worse in the longer term.

/edit - call me cynical

I had the same thought earlier. Just keep it working long enough to get through the elections.

So I'm meant to believe in a week that they've magically found a way to fix things.

Would you like to sell me a bridge next.
The heat is on, so the cadres have probably been told to back off from the trough and sabotage for a while. We need to make the new Minister look good you know.........
