At the end of the month i will be porting to another network.

I don't have any coverage inside my home but as soon as I walk outside the front door I start getting 3 bars I just hope that CELL C can install a free antenna or signal booster find it irritating that I am too afraid to port over my number.

So on Thursday I go get a new contract from Vodacom. Now suddenly today Cell C is working super fast again after struggling like crazy since middle January.

Test conducted on 16 March 2013 03:09:20 PM
Download Speed: 7242 kbps (905.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1367 kbps (170.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 53 ms

Karma :D

Just leave already.

That way I can take your space and have bandwidth then I will be the 1 always complaining and bitching but glad you've redundancy. You should have paid the upfront R1499 with vodacom 2gig of data everymonth

I couldn't leave by yesterday because I was waiting for the sim to activate. Will still use Cell C during the day since my wife works from home but yes, I guess people are sick of my complaining so I will stop doing that. :)

As a consumer you've all right to complain, moan, bitch etc :) I was being sarcastic with the above post but happy now, that you've some form of communication to the outside world..

Hehe :) RichardG, I can't tell you how happy I am to have fast working internet now. :D Cell C users close your eyes because this is a Vodacom LTE speedtest result. On Cell C in the evenings I couldn't even get speedtest to load.

You will be going bankrupt much faster now. Just to run that speed test you spent 26 megs, you could have used that to do windows update or something. Impressive speed but overpriced I hope you added a limit onto your account, if you go bankrupt or complain about OOB shocker I will laugh. Speed means nothing dude unless it's affordable. 2gig is way too little for LTE every month.

Yeah it's a heart attack waiting to happen :D

Still a happy customer since last week.:)

Last Result:
Download Speed: 4569 kbps (571.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 802 kbps (100.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 122 ms

I came to a conclusion in life if speed is acceptable fine with me cause 50gigs/150gigs will be more than suffice for the year if it's super sonic then it will deplete my data much faster. Even if it takes 2hours to download ISO image(700meg)

I will just be using the LTE account to browse in the evenings when Cell C doesn't work. I've got the Giga 200 so there's still plenty of gigs to use for downloading and Cell C works fine when the sun is shining most days. But yes, the OOB shark does make one nervous, especially at such high speeds.

Update - Got a call from Cell C
They finally acknowledged that the problem is country wide and the Tech said that they only received stock of parts for the tower upgrades on Friday.

Highly congested areas are getting 1st preference

Why no update to us the paying subscribers? Why no feedback? CellC has shown to be arrogant about this problem. Baited clients with cheap data but have offered shoddy service. Even AKC nowhere to be seen at all. Very disturbing scenario developing at CellC. I am appalled as since January, i have not had good experience with network coverage in Bellville. The reports on this thread are all the same yet our CellC guy gives one liners.

This is certainly taking clients for granted as most are tied into contracts. I am so glad mine ran out and have since then been on prepaid for over 2 years. I now use an MTN line and it does the job. As for CellC, they must really convince me hard to get back to them as I still have the line which I will test now and then for service improvement before throwing my eggs into their basket. For now let me enjoy blazing fast internet whilst CellC congests it's network and offer poor service. Tired of complaining and filling endless forms and getting text messages about this not been done or will be done or is been done.

Bet you R140 mil CellC guy will issue some statement stating that the issue will now be resolved in the next few days and we will notice improvement. Sorry action speaks louder than words this time! :(
