Anyone that can help me with the restore disks for this notebook. I have the Leopard 10.5 OS but it will not install. Apple do not have the 10.5.4 disks and they sent me the 10.5 only.

Do you have the Leopard 10.5 disks?

Yes I have the Leopard 10.5 Disks but I keep getting this error "Mac OS X cannot setup on this machine" Apple say that I need a newer version or the restore disks. Problem is that Apple SA do not have the newer version available.

i am doubting ur situation, the mac wont install the older version of leopard because of firmware i suspect. The disks shipped with your mac will definitely be able to install on your machine, so i ask, where are the original install disks u got with ur machine?

Phone around and ask the store's if they have recently set-up a new demo Mac, if they have beg them to make you a copy of those disk's, a bottle of whiskey/vodka to the local techie makes all the difference.

Stick around till Bwana finds this.

I have only done 1 Leopard install myself, and it worked fine.

Why - are you feeling skeptical?

The disks that came with the computer should install just fine.
