I have an automatic gearbox with paddles in my daily drive, is this OK?

Also sequential is ok? How is a noisy impractical gearbox for daily driving acceptable? DCT makes way more sense! Sequential for pure race cars or mega builds sure

Sequential on a motor bike perhaps? I drove my MkI Golf around this last weekend and it was fun using a fully manual car again, nostalgic fun, not drive to work every day in bumper to bumper traffic fun.

Reverse is done by the motor going backwards.

It's not even a gear, really, is it?

Well it does reduce engine rpm to wheel rpm - 9.03:1 ratio.
